Continuing the discussion from Feature Request: Arabic Language Support (A huge wave of new users is here!):
I completely agree with this request, and I’d like to add another perspective.
I don’t think this is simply about adding another language. It’s about making better use of infrastructure that Trakt has already invested in.
Arabic metadata for many movies and TV shows already exists through TMDB, and Trakt has already invested in localization through Crowdin, where the community contributes interface translations. That means much of the foundation is already in place.
Some improvements that could make a real difference without fundamentally changing the platform include:
- Full Arabic interface translation.
- Display Arabic movie and TV titles whenever they’re already available on TMDB.
- Display Arabic plot summaries and descriptions whenever they’re already available on TMDB.
- Display Arabic genres and metadata whenever they’re already available on TMDB.
I also think this is a real opportunity for growth.
The success of TV Time across the MENA region showed that there’s already a large audience interested in TV and movie tracking platforms. Many of those users already understand the value of tracking apps—they’re simply looking for the right platform.
Trakt already offers one of the best tracking experiences available. For many potential users, the biggest barrier isn’t the features—it’s the language.
To me, this feels like one of those relatively small improvements that could have a much bigger impact than it first appears.
