Bring back library or allow refunds

Removing libraries was a huge mistake. Let me just give one use case:

In Kodi it’s reasonably easy to hack the skin to highlight items that you have in your trakt library. By doing this, you can do something cool, like use themoviedb helper to access various trending lists (such as Trakt’s…..or IMDB) and then have the items that you have highlighted….that’s a very unique use case that made Trakt stand out.

I’ve stood by this product for years, through the tumultuous times of price increases, ignoring users, etc…. I went around bragging about how special this product was. Now, I’m convinced there is no effort to ensure that users get a consistent stable experience. I am very disappointed.

Taking away this feature is a disaster. Either bring it back, or give me an option to get a refund….that’s the request.

I understand your frustration and the criticism 100%, but at the same time, I’m very certain the library will come back. In which form though – that’s the question.

Unfortunately, for the meantime, you will have to use v2 in the browser to access all of your library management.

How do I use v2?

Remove the app. from the link: https://trakt.tv/dashboard

So long as this stays available, it’ll do. The failure to get real input on this new UX is baffling.

No worries. The link of the new website has an app. prefix. The old version doesn’t. Just type in https://trakt.tv/dashboard in the browser.

One important update in v3 that has happened is you can actually see your library in your profile now at least. No management so far, but it not being shown was actually related to a bug.

To be clear, you have to add the /dashboard part. Simply removing the app. part still redirects to app.trakt.tv

Forgot to mention, yeah

This is why I couldn’t use the TestFlight beta. So I’m back to using third party apps until Trakt can get their act together and add back some basic feature like library.
