Apart from the fact that the forced v3 redirect for free users is another broken promise of not forcing anyone to use it until it’s ready (it’s demonstrably not and still missing loads of core features), this has created a mess. Some pages are on v2, some are on v3. Watch Now links are fully broken on v3 since they link to a v2 URL which just redirects to the v3 homepage.
Stop this madness. Clearly there hasn’t been a lot of thought put into any of this. Stop pretending v3 is anywhere near ready. Listen to your users telling you it isn’t. Make v3 usable before forcing anyone to use it.
I have been avoiding v3 and while I don’t outright hate it… I do like seeing my history laid out so seeing it done in ascending order by day is horrific. What a horrible design choice. What was wrong with descending from the present back?
I dread what other poor choices I’m in for
Edit: here’s more! Specials in my upcoming schedule even though I’ve never had that turned on and I would go and turn it off but my settings don’t actually load!
Dear God! This is the worst move EVER! The new interface is a total fail. Not even comparable to the previous experience. How can you say people prefer it? Just to begin: a main function as “Progress” is now gone and my Watchlist is not in the order I carefully crafted it anymore.
I’m so deeply disappointed you are forcing us to use this horrible and incomplete V3 (when you always said you wouldn’t). Shame on you!!!
I ask it as a longtime loyal user: please, please, please… let us use V2 again until a decent and usable V3 will be developed.
What the hell with forcing a language that isn’t English onto your visitors, WITHOUT a switch. We didn’t ask for this. This is what Trakt light users wanted with localization. I haven’t asked for this.
Of kan ik nu ook Nederlands praten op de forums dan. Nee zeker, hou dan op met deze nonsens.
If I wanted to see Dutch on a website I’d go to tvgids.nl
thank you very much for coming to my ted talk.
I wasn’t quite ready to drop Trakt after last year’s price fiasco, though I did stop my VIP. I was debating resubbing recently with the ‘new’ price deal.
V3 is an abomination of UI/UX. Ironically paying for VIP would allow me to use the V2 again, but at this stage it feels like an absolute slap in the fact to rug pull a perfectly functional desktop layout and try to force people to pay for the usable one.
I don’t even mind new design that much. New UI is simply not functional. There is so many features missing. I tried to use it before and I failed. Now I thought about moving to other platform but I cannot even find my list of watched shows, so I cannot migrate them manually. I guess I lost it all…
I can’t see my history in a convenient way anymore… The navigation to single episodes within seasons has become very troublesome and now even information like when episodes aired is missing.
This is unusable. Please revert this change until v3 is actually functional. Thank you.
i mostly use trakt to, ironically enough, keep track of the shows i watch. calendar is unusable now that all the shows that i’ve dropped over nearly 12 years came back with no clear way to filter them out or drop them again. this is awful and i’ll be moving as soon as i find time to move to a suitable alternative for my needs.
At noon today V2 worked fine. I came home after the gym to find that it is no longer available and that I’m being forced to V3. I immediately came to the forum to see if there was a problem that others had reported, only to find posts from users stating that this an intended change for free users.
Where was the announcement that they were going to force free users on to V3? If this turns out to be an intended change and not a glitch, Trakt will officially be dead to me.
Edited to add: Found the announcement from Kevin. The reason given: the new experience now supports the core workflows most free users rely on. No it does not. And users have been repeating that since V3 started rolling out. If it did I would have switched to it.
this new web version is truly awful, I stopped using the android version when it changed and I guess I will now have to stop using Trakt completely, haven’t they ever hear of ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’
I am disgusted. Not only have they locked us out of v2, but they have locked us out of a discussion on the forced switch.
V3 is still sub-par and devoid of important features.
Clicking titles from continue watching take you to the show page, not the episode
Season pages are missing.
Notes are missing
Guest actors are not separated
Social features are missing
Things that used to take one click now takes 2-3 clicks
The list goes on - many have documented the differences - and these are not “VIP Exclusive” features. But our feedback is continuously ignored and dismissed.
Trakt say@kcador says “the new experience now supports the core workflows most free users rely on.” But with these features missing, that is simply not true.
This is the latest in a trend of gaslighting and it’s time for popular resistance to be honest.
