Importing from TVTime with Missing TV Series

Short description of the issue

  • How can I find out which TV series haven’t been imported?

What’s the fastest way to add the missing TV series to the site?

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • I imported a GDPR file from TVTime containing just over 8,000 episodes I’ve watched. But the site only shows about 7,600 of them. There’s no list of which TV shows are missing, so how can I know which ones weren’t imported? I have to check them manually, and that will soon be difficult since I only have screenshots of the TV shows I’ve watched—TVTime is going to be shut down.

Also, I’m not sure which databases are being used. I understand that TheMovieDB is being used, but there must be a link to TheTVDB, which is what TVTime used, I believe. After finding the missing TV shows, do I have to manually add every TV show listed on TheTVDB to TheMovieDB? Isn’t there a faster way, since the TV shows are already on TheTVDB and are complete? (At a quick glance, these are unscripted Italian TV shows—for example, there’s a children’s show and a documentary series. Is there a problem with this type of content?)

Screenshots and other visual aids

By the way, I noticed that, for some reason, the first episode of this series wasn’t imported: Trakt Web: Track Your Shows & Movies or last of: Trakt Web: Track Your Shows & Movies

Does it make sense to use the extension’s export feature as well, or is the GDPR file more comprehensive, and could importing both cause conflicts?

EDIT: Here ( Trakt Web: Track Your Shows & Movies ), the latest season is missing—I guess because it’s not in the database used—but anyway, it didn’t imported the first two episodes that I watched.

My Crazy Italian Wedding: Season 8 (2024) — The Movie Database (TMDB) Only has those two. Someone will need to add it for it to show up. I’ve had to do a bunch of seasons and episodes for certain shows I watch. It is what it is.

Yeah, sure, I guess that was the problem—TheMovieDB is a terrible database for TV series, but the problem is that it didn’t mark the first two episodes as watched. I don’t know if, after fixing the entry on TheMovieDB, it will import the watched episodes correctly (and I couldn’t even do it manually, because I don’t know the viewing dates now that TVTime has shut down—or should I re-import the file while it still works, or maybe I can “read” the exported file and add the dates by hand…)

That I can’t say since I know nothing about TVtime or the import. However, I have seen people retry importing on a few of these posts. Can’t hurt to try again and see if things do better.

There are some really bizarre bugs. For this series: Trakt Web: Track Your Shows & Movies, only the first five episodes were imported; I don’t even understand what the problem could be, since I watched all the episodes around the same time. The only thing is that the series was released in two batches, but both batches are on Trakt—yet only the first five have been imported as “watched.”

I’m starting to wonder if it’s a problem with the TVTime export, but I doubt it, because it only happens with Italian shows.

Hi,
The importer did not import those episodes because of the lack of IDs at our side and TMDB.
For “My Crazy Italian Wedding” those 2 episodes of season 8 don’t have TVDB IDs, so the importer did not match them. Those can be added at TMDB.

As for “Bang Bang Baby”, only the first 5 episodes had TVDB IDs at TMDB, so we could only match those.
I’ll add the IDs for them now, since it will make the importer better.

Since the issue with those items were IDs, you can try importing your data activating this option:

This will match it based on Season and Episode number, so it will probably work for those titles.

But is this a new option? It wasn’t there when I uploaded the file. Do I need to re-upload it? Do I need to clear the history first, or can I just re-upload the file?

Hi,
It is a new option.
It’s up to you, you can import after clearing your current data and see if it worked better. Or you can import in your account as it is and see if it fills the gaps of data.

Is there a way to understand TV episodes and series that haven’t been imported?
