iOS Feature Requests

@Ohifriend Hi Justin I’ve had some time to look at the new app and I have a few requests. I’ve ranked them in order of most importance.

  1. Bring back custom order of tabs at the bottom. This is my most pressing issue. I never use the preset defaults and losing the ability to select specific options is a major problem. I know the goal was to ‘unify the look’ across platforms but I don’t think visual appeal should take priority over function.

  2. Differentiate season regulars/guest star actors and also bring back the number count.

  3. Use episode thumbnails in up next rather than generic show banner.

  4. Change tap behavior on the main checkmark button when filled purple. It should not trigger an option to clear all previous watches but rather open the pop up menu to mark as watched again.

  5. Change order of sections and put episode details back at the top. It doesn’t really make sense to have the relevant information all the way at the bottom. Also move the reviews block below the actors list to better match the original layout.

  6. Hide where to watch section. This was an option on the v2 website settings and was never implemented in the app but now the section is even more obtrusive so I hope this can be enabled.

  7. Add clickable shortcut to TMDB and TVDB next to where the IMDb one is.

Depending on how the app is coded I might have to put this request on the main web development page but here’s some more overall requests.

  1. Bring back season pages. I believe I saw a post where someone said this wasn’t planned for v3 but I’m hoping this decision can be changed. The season overview pages with vertical lists were so much easier to read. Plus it included vital information that is now no where to be seen. No way to check completed watch progress per season or total runtime per season. If not implemented system wide at least bring it back to the iOS app. There was a beta version I think where you long pressed on the season name and it let you open the legacy page.

  2. Bring back notes! I don’t think I’ve seen them anywhere since the v3 update. I use them all the time and I hope they’re not going to be discontinued.

  3. Bring back ability to add episodes to lists. The only reason I use lists are to add my favorite episodes of certain shows. If this function is removed then lists become completely useless to me.

Thanks for all your hard work on the app and being quick with your replies to feedback!
