There are users who regularly and deliberately post spoilers. I’m fed up with them. Can’t they somehow be taught a lesson? Can’t this be punished? For example, after a certain number of warnings, couldn’t their ability to comment be blocked for a few days?
Can you explain where and what do you mean by spoilers ?
I have this version in my head that specifically for episodes of tv shows once you get into that episode it is in you hand to not start reading the comments. People and I believe that for episodes (maybe this comes from old forums when shows were not that popular in mainstream) there was this unspoken rule of once you read the episode it means that you have seen it.
What is the purpose of start reading comments in an episode that you have not seen ?
Movies is a different category and falls in a different spectrum.
I’ve noticed in movies that when a viewer is extremely dissatisfied, they always end up posting the film’s final twist to the commenters, which of course gets endless negative reactions and this shoots the spoiler filled post straight to the top.
ok yes that i am against also. That is just pure trolling. going to just post the twist of a Shyamalan movie is evil.
The correct action here is instead of people reacting to the post , to report it for spoilers and the admins will remove it.
And yes i know that they do put penalties for people with comments that are against the rules.
You can blur comments on unwatched episodes/movies.
Negative reaction emojis should PUSH THE REVIEW DOWN, NOT UP.
Kind of a difficult topic. One could say “just don’t read comments on unwatched items or blur them”. However, sometimes people want to read comments as “reviews”. So there is no perfect solution, as Trakt does not differentiate between reviews and other comments. It’s ultimately up to the user to mark sections with spoilers as such and up to Trakt to act on reports for not marked spoilers. I don’t think there’s much to change with the current system.
I don’t think trakt is the right place for that. I will never enter an episode or movie to read a review or something else here. I take by default that some sort of spoiler will be in a comment. As you said there is nothing anyone else can do than the simple method in the settings to hide comments from unwatch items. More simple than that its not an option here.
Yeah that’s fair
