not everything needs to be changed man. the old ui/ux wasnt perfect but its better than what it currently is. im preparing my transfer to another app incase the old ui doesnt return

What happened ?
Who just decided to ignore paying customer ?
We pay for a set of features, set in a structure which we decided we preferred to other site offers.
We liked it enough to decide to pay for that information structure.
Then you decide to dump people randomly into that new version.
Were you seriously hoping all was going to go well ?
It is completely understandable that you need to change some backend coding to make the database more responsive. It is understandable that you need to modify some of the frontend to fit those changes.
But why reinventing the wheel, forgetting so many spokes, and throw your vip in a pile of poo ?
In addition, people using your sort of service don’t care much about all the childish visual flourishes you added everywhere. It is absolutely un-necessary and will not be the thing that brings you more paying customer, and it annoys most of the existing ones. Your website is not being used by people who feel that the look is more important than the features. Don’t try so hard.
Give us useful features that are useable on our screens.
The existing version of your website is very good… Why oh why doing this ??

V3 is just terrible. unintuitive, most of the features missing.. useless.. if it does not improve (significantly) I think it’s end of trakt. I am 100% sure someone would create better solution. It’s shame to ruined great product this way

I see I’m not the only one disappointed with the new system. It’s a big step backward, missing many features and introducing unnecessary friction. I can’t unsubscribe from shows I no longer watch, the display feels cluttered, and the overall design is confusing.
For example, when I mark an episode as watched, why do I need to go through an extra step and select a date from another panel? If I’m marking it now as watched, it should simply register as watched. Instead, it adds extra steps and then refreshes the page and brings it to the top, instead of keeping me at the same position to mark the next show.
The UX feels unpolished. I can’t even find the calendar anymore, unless I’m missing it.
Overall, it feels messy and harder to use. It would really help to have an option to switch back to the previous version.

I always had calendar bookmarked, so I just updated the bookmark. I don’t have to go through the nonsense rigamaroles to find it. I just wish I could do away with the unnecessary images in the calendar. I liked the previous all-text version. I hated when they did this garbage to Netflix too. Text makes things more searchable.

I manage multiple accounts. I linked a lot of my fathers accounts through his
t.v. to automatically keep trakt of his shows and he’s now constantly calling me asking
”what happened” in the show he’s watching….because he falls asleep and
misses like 3 episodes then watches like 10 in a row. But says it’s confusing.
I used to be able to just delete the shows ticket as watched and he could go
see the missed episodes.
Now, I can’t even log into his accounts unless I’m physically at his house using his
computer as when I go to log in on my computer it AUTOMATICALLY logs MY account in.
I hate this so much and what was (my guess) created as a creative way to help
keep people interested in movies/shows has become a royal pain in the rump.

I logged in after a few weeks (I usually have auto scrobbling set up) and saw the UI was completely overhauled and overall a worse experience. Earlier the domains were separate for both UI, please bring it back.
I also dislike having “magic auth” login which requires me to enter a code/click a link to login when my password already exists?? It feels like the platform is only devolving.

use https://trakt.tv/signin to get around the magic link and enter your password instead. you’re just removing the word auth from the magic link url

ikr! the whole site looks vibecoded but i have seen vibe coded sites being more functional
yeah i don’t like the magic links either. i found this other way of signing in on reddit so at least its still available for now. 2fa would be fine too but it was fine the way it was. usually you don’t need to sign in that often so it’s not that big of an issue. usually is the key word
New Trakt is a tragedy — some movies and series from other countries are missing, and it’s not possible to rate seasons.

Hello everyone. I’m Noel and have been a user of Trakt for 10 years I believe (if not more). I accumulated more than 2500 of watchtime (I think. I don’t know the exact number since in the new version, this information is missing). I was always happy with the service; it filled my needs the simplest and direct way I needed: Have a tracked history of shows and movies, be on the lookout for new content, being remainded when a new show/movie is about to come out, search for other media where an actor or director has been involved, and so many more things.
Recently, Trakt updated its version to a more “phone app” way that makes the website unusable and makes a change so drastic that seems to be a completely separated application. Even the most simple tasks, are not only counter-intuitive, but straight-up don’t work or are bugged. I have been using the new website for about a month and I’m seriously thinking in exporting the data and move to another website. And if it weren’t because haven’t quite found the golden goose, I would have done it by now.
Ratings are most times bugged, leaving comments are more restrictive than before, filters are just crap and don’t help at all, watched history is inconvenient and not user friendly. A lot more things I could put in here (and I mean A LOT, I found too many for my taste), but the bottom line is that this version is, simply put, crap.
I’m a developer, and I understand that sometimes, change is a good thing and the way to move forward. But having read a lot of posts not only here, but in othere places like Reddit, where A LOT of people are not happy with this new version, I think the most sensible way to go (at least if you want to keep your public), is that at least, the old version is still accessible from the settings; and each user is free to choose the one that fits its needs the best. And my guess is that the vast majority will choose to keep that old version.
As an old time fan of Trakt, I hope this doesn’t just get lost in the forums and the people behind the product listen the fans and users, and do what is right. If not, I guess I will have to move out to another, more user-friendly platform.
