As we have all been forced onto this new v3 and most voicing their opinions here seem more than a little disapointed with trakt at this forced change, I wondered if you would consider this idea.
Perhaps you could setup a new forum category here (read only is fine) to publish the ongoing changes and updates you are making to bring v3 closer to the functionality of the old dashboard.
I’m NOT asking for a full rundown with screenshots and guides etc, just a few words in a new topic each time new updates are made, even if they are not public, but especially when they are, so we can check them out.
I would rather not wait 2 months to get an official announcment and as I HOPE in that you are constantly pushing out minor updates to address the appauling re-grade, it would be a, little olive branch to us that used the site on a daliy basis.
I’m sure i can’t be alone in wanting to know you are at least listening to the complaints and working on v3 to restore lost functionality, being able to see you are doing this sort of thing might convince me to restore my VIP renewal.
that implies that the staff want to make it like V2, which then implies that V3 is wrong and known to the stuff, as something that is validated and then you open a whole page of changes to make in order to add everything that was stripped out from V2, then something is very wrong in general and completely does not make sence
yes, for features that were there and for some reason are all gone. The users most look for a why or a sincere we made a mistake. The proble is not we do not like the new colors. It is strip down all the features. Not change a feature, not forgot something. Everything is missing and everything is gone.
This is my point, you have just linked 3 different places, one of which is historically for major updates once every couple of months. The other 2 are for feature requests and system issues which is not what this is, plus, they are both a little confusing and there is no easy list for minor changes.
I just thought a simple forum section set to read only, with a few words letting everyone know once a feature has been updated or improved.
eg. I’m sure the filters are being worked on, and maybe they wont all be done together, so an update could say, “hiding and fading by items on your lists is back for Recommendations”.
Then the next day “hiding and fading now working on Anticipated too”.
The next day they could say “library RSS feeds are available again”. Followed by an update of “calendar now has filtering for Premiers for New and Returning shows back”.
Alright I have to say it: GitHub is a site for software developers, not software users. It is absolutely ludicrous to suggest Trakt users make an account on a site they’ll never use for anything else SIMPLY BECAUSE THE TRAKT DEVELOPERS HAVE MORE OR LESS ABANDONED THEIR OWN DEDICATED FORUM.
That said, that ludicrous situation is exactly what they have forced us into.
