What is the difference between Library and History

I am new with Trakt. I just signed up about 5 days ago. I am still navigating through the website and finding things I can do with it.

This is my question for you. What would you put in your “History” and what would you put in your “Library”? They would seem to me to be the same lists.

Your history is movies and shows you’ve watched whereas your library are movies and shows you actually own, such as a physical or digital purchase.
