Why are we so against using dates?

Short description of the issue

  • I know this has been brought up before, but what is with the “last tuesday” “yesterday”, “in two weeks” those are absolutely useless words and phrases when I am trying to log things. I watched this weeks Dancing with the Stars on the date it aired and forgot to log it. I went back today to log it, didn’t know what date it was but I knew it was Tuesday, and I could just pick Tuesday on the pop-up calendar. Only there isn’t a pop up calendar anymore, for some reason you can only log things after the fact in relation to other things you’ve watched, and you just have to know what the date was. And don’t go looking on the episode page, because that will just remind you that it was on Tuesday, but you don’t get a calendar to choose that. Can we please do away with the relative date/times, and use absolute dates/times? The fact that this even needs to be asked on a tracking website is crazy.

This terminology is very confusing, I agree we need dates

When I see it mention something like Last Tuesday, to me that is over a week ago (Tuesday Last week), not Tuesday this week, which should be just Tuesday

Agreed. To me, this is a huge functional regression.

We don’t all always remember to log our views right away.
It used to be easy to enter a view for a past time and/or date.
Now, I have no idea how to do so without hacking the page’s HTML. Is that deliberate?

Just had to dig out a calendar to find out what date “Last Tuesday” was :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

I do dislike that when logging a watch and selecting ‘Other date’, the calendar option is not immediately available. I don’t want to insert this watch between some other watches in order to get the calendar to activate.
