Spent some time trying to find the movie “Islands” (2025).
- Searched for the title. The film doesn’t show up on any of the pages. I wish I could just add 2025 to find it, but that doesn’t work.
- That’s fine, I thought. I’ll just search for the director, Jan-Ole Gerster. Enter the name, go to the people results. No results.
- Okay, fine, apparently tmdb has him as Jan Ole Gerster. No results again here.
- Alright, try the main cast. Searched for “Sam Riley”. No results. “Stacy Martin“ - no results. “Jack Farthing“, no results.
- Oh, great, apparently there are always zero results for people regardless of the search term. Can’t find Chris Nolan either, or anyone else.
- So, I guess the movie doesn’t exist on trakt yet… somehow? But no, via some six-degrees-of-trakt-search by looking up the cast’s other movies and clicking through from there, it does. It’s just that the search is still useless.
Please see my previous message, the search index is still rebuilding and items will be missing until that is done later today.
Thanks for clarifying, this specific issue seems to have been resolved now.
In the future, please communicate more prominently when a core functionality like search is infuriatingly unusable. At the very least the status page should not claim all systems to be operational. I assumed the previous message to be outdated.
I added a monitor for the Search service to our status page. We’ll also post updates to the status page when we know there is an issue. Sometimes this happens in the middle of the night and there isn’t always someone to know immediately.
