It’s becoming increasingly frustrating how long things take to load in an otherwise great 3rd party app. Is it Trakt’s intention to drown these apps out with time with all these recent changes? Why am I a VIP when things like this happen?
I deleted a bunch of my lists to see if that would help loading times, but it didn’t.
Trakt has nothing to do with third party apps, you’ll want to contact the app devs for support with those apps

To expand on this a little more…Trakt is a fully functional web application that helps people track what they are watching. It does that very very well. But, to keep data fluent and open, they use the API provided by TMDB because they have become the authority in holding all the data that can possibly be thought of about Movies and TV Shows. Which this makes sense.
So, with the above in mind, Trakt does offer their own API so that other people can build their own 3rd party apps if they want to. But that, like @otakunet21 said, has nothing to do with Trakt (other than the use of the API) and how those 3rd party apps are built or maintained.
@Leiv_Eiriksson, if you are having such a hard time with your specific 3rd party application, you need to take that up with the support/development team for that specific app, because Trakt has nothing to do with it. The API is there for consumption. Trakt has nothing to do with the performance of that 3rd party app.
With that said, you asked why be a VIP? Let me spin it this way, why be a VIP and not simply use Trakt exclusively (meaning why are you using a 3rd party app when being a Trakt VIP offers you so many features?)? The website is great and the new Lite version is getting better with every release. The native apps are also getting better and better.

Thanks for the clarification — I really appreciate your insights @otakunet21 and @terryapodaca.
I completely understand now that Trakt doesn’t control or manage third-party apps, and that any performance issues should be directed to those developers. My initial frustration came from a lack of transparency about where the bottlenecks might be, especially since everything connects back to Trakt’s API in some way. It’s helpful to know that Trakt provides the API as a service and leaves implementation up to those building on top of it.
As for being a VIP — fair question! I genuinely love what Trakt offers and have supported it for years. I use a third-party app mainly because I find it incredibly intuitive and well-designed, especially in how it follows iOS design guidelines. That ease of use really adds to the overall experience for me.
Thanks again for taking the time to explain — it really does help put things into context.

Just out of curiosity, what 3rd party apps are you using?
Oh hey I use Rippple too. Are you on the official release or beta? The new beta update fixed the loading time issue.
I’m on the beta, really glad things are fixed now.
