About the Feature Requests category

Share your feature requests so we know how to make Trakt more awesome.

Here’s a quick guide to submitting feature requests and how voting works:

Before you submit a feature request, search the forums to see if there are any requests similar to your idea. If so, reply to that topic and up vote it. If not, submit a new feature request.

Here are existing feature requests, sorted by most popular first

How to submit a feature request

  • Only one feature per topic
  • Provide a relevant subject to your post
  • Explain your request in as much detail as you can
  • Include any workarounds you’ve tried
  • Add screenshots, pictures, workflows and any other relevant information you have
  • Tag the request
  • After you create it, vote for it. Suggestions which have 0 votes will be closed.

Voting

Feature request voting provides us with a guide to help plan and prioritize development. As there are a variety of factors that go into this, we can’t guarantee a feature request will get implemented based on votes and posts alone. If a feature request won’t ever happen, we’ll let you know.

All users are given at least 10 votes . Users can only vote on any individual request once. To remove your vote hit the vote button again and then click on “Remove Vote” to confirm. If we close/archive a thread because it has been implemented users will get their votes back to vote on something else.

A feature request has a lot of votes and comment, why aren’t you building it yet?

We have limited resources and need to juggle day to day Trakt responsibilities with all VIP and public feature requests. Some requests might seem very simple, but that’s not always the case. High vote counts help us prioritize, but ideas with lower vote counts might get built first if that’s best for Trakt.
