Add movie/show poster when sharing in iMessage/other messaging servic

Hey,

I started to share links to shows and movies to my brother via iMessage and I was hugely disappointed to see that when sharing a link in said messaging services it doesn’t show the movie or show poster but instead just a few pictures of the actors within the movie or show.

It would be much better looking and attractive to click on if it would show the movie/show posters instead.

Just imagine the WW84 poster in that message instead of the actors photos.

Either the original poster or some cool fan art from fanart.tv perhaps?

Would make sharing links to Trakt better.

I came here looking for info about this.

I share Trakt links all the time with people in iMessage, etc. and I feel it does the service and the movie disservice to send a link without the poster. People just expect to see the flashy movie poster.

Lately it’s putting a Trakt logo in the big, left spot in shares. That may be worse than a picture of one of the actors. Poster FTW!!

Thanks,
Mike

This used to work properly, it seems like Apple is reading the metadata tags from the web page differently now. I’ll need to look into it more.

Just following up, but I fixed this issue several months ago and just verified it’s sharing with the correct poster now.
