I have a MAX box. A friend told me to subscribe to Trakt to easily save my favorites. I have put them all in to Trakt but how do I play them? Can I play directly from Trakt? If so, how? If not, where can I play them from? If not, why have Trakt? I know I sound like an idiot but I am truly a newbie and really need help.
Trakt is more to mark off TV Shows and Movies to make it easier to know where you are up to. Some services can do something called scrubbing but I don’t believe MAX is one of them.
What is Scrubbing
Scrubbing is a program that checks you current watching episode (Live) and then shows it on Trakt well you watch it, If you finish that episode it will then Auto Mark-off the episode.
So to conclude it doesn’t seem like your friend explained why Trakt is useful, It isn’t useful as it allows you to play Movies & Shows through it but it’s easy to Mark off the TV Shows and Movies to then know your progress across platforms and for later times.
