Short description of the issue

  • Connecting Emby and Trakt on Windows, leads to a dead auth page after stupid password-less login

  • From Emby, I press Get PIN

  • I get the email, I press Sign in

  • I get stuck on this screen

Just to confirm. You sign in, get the code emailed to you. Enter that code (from email) and get stuck before you get to where you can authorize emby? Or is this after logging in and trying to authorize emby (emby code)?

The former.

Also, when I go back to Emby, and select get pin, I get stuck on that page again

For what it’s worth, I’m having the exact same experience, to a T.

Noticed watched status hadn’t been syncing from Emby to Trakt for a few days, attempted to get a new PIN, do the “You sign in, get the code emailed to you. Enter that code (from email) and get stuck before you get to where you can authorize emby” and then get click the ‘Get PIN’ from the first screenshot in the first post, and a new tab opens, but this URL produces a blank page:

Is there a new Emby plugin available? It looks like they are using PIN authentication, but that has been unsupported for years now. Here is what should happen:

  • Emby generates and display a code in their app
  • You go to https://trakt.tv/activate and enter that code
  • Emby refreshes and you’re connected

Hopefully there is a new plugin with the correct type of device authentication. If not, Emby needs to update the plugin to use device authentication.

Facing the exact same issue, after I click on get login code and enter it, its stuck on signing in - and the page where you are click authorize never renders like it did before.

I created a post in the Emby forums for this very issue earlier this morning and was referred to this post.

The Trakt Plugin version 3.8.5.0 I am using is the latest available.

Same problem here, just tried the new plugin 3.8.6.0 that is supposed to improve login but i still get a blank page if i click ‘Get Pin’
