While checked in to watching an episode clicking on “View History” for a different episode in the same show or a different show incorrectly populates with the view history of the episode currently being watched. The pulldown menu correctly displays the episode chosen.
The problem persists even after the show I was watching has ended and is no longer displayed as currently watching. I have tried deleting all cookies for the page, logging out and in again and closing all trakt tabs. I tried a different browser. Then I noticed the problem is actually much worse. My general Trakt history only displays this one episode’s history. The history page is correctly displayed when selecting “Movies”, “Shows” or “Episodes”, but returns when selecting “All Types”. I noticed that the date range was set to the range of the views of that episode. Clicking on the red “X” does nothing. Changing the start date to an earlier date displays correctly and refreshing the page it still shows correctly, but if I switch to a different page (like Profile) and again click on “History” the problem returns. The issue began when I added several additional viewing dates for this one episode (Lost S01E02) from the “View History” page for that episode.
[EDIT] Switching the sort date to “Ascending” the page displays correctly, but toggling back to the default “Descending” sort order the problem returns. I have no filters set.
[EDIT2] After adding an additional date for a different episode from the show’s season page my issue has resolved, but I suspect the bug remains. I will test.
[CORRECTION] The problem persists even after adding the new watch date as in EDIT2 when I choose descending sort order, but now the episode displaye is the episode I added the new watch date to.
Yep I’ve been getting this the last few days as well, on top of search functionality getting somehow worse… and this is the same platform they want to double the price for lol.
I pushed a potential fix for the history page. Please let me know if it’s working correctly now.
Thanks Justin, the history page appears to be fine now but I’ve not tested the complete functionality. The only issue I see currently is that the “view history” link on the episode page no longer opens to the history page when I try to open it in a new tab. It opens the episode page in a new tab; however, clicking on the button directly opens the history page correctly. I can easily work with this, it just takes me one more click.
Try doing CMD+Click
or the windows equivalent, that should open the history link in a new tab.
Ctrl-Click for Win 10. I also have Mouse Wheel Click set to open link in new tab. Also Right Click->Open Link in New Tab. None work as expected. When I hover over the link the url of the current episode page is displayed with a “#” sign at the end, ex. https://trakt.tv/shows/lost-2004/seasons/1/episodes/7#
. No worries though, I just open the duplicate page in a new tab and Left-Click on the link.
