Customize Calendar/Notifications

Is there a plan to bring back the ability to only show the tv shows I started and hide/mute the tv shows I haven’t started? The calendar in the current beta became really annoying with constant notifications of episode releases for tv shows I haven’t started it yet.

Anyone to answer please?

Most likely yes, but nothing is confirmed so far

In the Calendar, if you watchlisted something it makes sense to show it to you, right?

As for Notifications, this is something we need to split from the Calendar. What I’m thinking is to have a separate Notifications toggle for Continue Watching releases and a separate one for Watchlisted releases. Would that work for you?

I imagine there are so many different calendar use cases: current TV shows, shows in general, cinema releases, new shows starting, physical media… Bringing back list calendar subscriptions as well as the pre-defined calendars would probably be the best solution. In whatever form that may be; it can probably be made a bit easier to use.

That’s as well what allows excluding the watchlist from your calendar in v2:

That would solve the notifications issue yeah. But also it would be helpful to be able to filter what’s included in the calendar. The watchlist for me is for shows I’m interested in, including old and new shows. So if I watchlist a show that’s currently in its third season for example, then I wouldn’t be interested to see it on my calendar until I start it and catch up with it.

Any update on this? The notifications and calendar have become so annoying and cluttered, they are not useful anymore

No update; this is currently not the highest priority.

While we work this out, you can maybe enable “Notification Delivery” to be in a “Scheduled Summary” for Trakt notifications in iOS settings. This would reduce the amount of notifications but let you know about them.

You can also try Rippple for Trakt. It’s an Trakt client made specifically for Apple devices that already does what you are looking for there. Also Trakt VIPs get all feature unlocked.

I’ll give Rippple a try. Thanks.
