Can someone help me understand what would cause it to be missing on Trakt?

Thanks.
You’ve added a dupe to TMDb, and I just reported it. The original entry is:
But it’s been marked as adult (I don’t know if that’s correct, I doubt it… don’t think there’s any hardcore s_x scenes involved ;-)). I reported it, and also mentioned you created a dupe.
Because it’s marked as adult on TMDb, it’s not on Trakt.
It is in Trakt now…
Because I fixed it to remove the non adult flag so it can be imported
I figured LOL
So on a related subject of documentaries.
Things like BBC, Nat-Geo, History Channel etc…documentaries where the tvdb has many many seasons of each and the tmdb has no such shows?
How do you guys handle those.
I managed to figure out the fact that “some” episodes have a movie based equivalent. For the remainder the tmdb has no idea what they are?
Is the only solution to manually create those on tmdb?
For each one create a movie based documentary and import the title and synopsis from tvdb?
Do you have an example entry on TVDb?
Also read through the contribution bible on TMDb:
Since I don’t know what you’re talking about exactly, it’s hard to answer, but I guess they should be added as individual movies.
Yeah using history channel as an example
Here’s tvdb and all its many seasons (scroll down)
History Channel Documentaries - TheTVDB.com
There is no such show on tmdb.
Many of the episodes do have a movie equivalent but many don’t.
So I just wanted to check that for missing ones creating the episodes as movies would be the right approach on tmdb. (and sorry my question was probably better asked on the tmdb forums itself.
Wow, that is a ton of documentaries in 1 show entry! Are they related in some way? It does seem liked individual movies makes more sense if they aren’t.
No they’re only related by the network that released them .
The BBC ones is far worse. Dating back to 1932.
Current years (seasons) tend to have around 250.
It was kind of easy with the way tvdb do them and they scribbled to Trakt just fine (though it’s far from easy hunting down a particular one to rewatch)
But to be honest I have found corresponding tmdb for a lot of them now. I will probably work through the others I have and add those to tmdb too.
Yes when you’re in doubt it’s always good to double check on their support forums! But since they aren’t related/themed whatever, and lots are added separately already its a pretty safe bet for it needing to be movies.
My guess is the tvdb series entries are “legacy” entries because until like a year ago they didn’t have a “movie side”. That’s why lots of movies related to series are listed as specials
