Hello, I am a new VIP member. I am migrating from Reelgood after they abandoned their Android app and removed IMDB ratings. So far, I am very pleased with Trakt. There is one item I would like to suggest to enhance the filters by streaming services. I am already using the All Favorites option, which is great, but I think it would also be very valuable to have an option to filter by “Not on my services”, which would show all the items from my lists (watchlist, progress, etc.) which are not available to me, that way it may help me decide if I want to buy/rent, or maybe consider subscribing to another service. This option is available on the Reelgood Android app, and I think it would be a (hopefully) easy enhancement that would be useful. Thanks!
This would be great!. I have Google Play listed as a favorite, just so I can see more of my watchlist, but its rent/buy only.
If we had this feature I’d remove Google Play from my favorites, and this would help separate what I can stream right now, and what I need to spend money on.
This would be great, I hate Netflix, but have it listed in my favorites just to see if a given item is still available or not on them.
Interesting idea! I’ll bring this up with the team
Can you post some screenshots of what the other apps do?
This first screenshot is the TV episodes to watch next (Reelgood Android app). One nice thing about this presentation is each show includes a tiny logo on the top right corner that allows you to see which of your services has that show without having to tap it.
The second screenshot is the movies in my watchlist; notice there is a section on top that shows all movies on my services, again, with a small logo showing which service has each movie. Then, there is another section at the bottom that shows all movies from my watchlist that are not on any of my services. It adds a banner on top to show which ones can be rented or purchased (or available on other services that I don’t subscribe to), or it will say “Coming soon” for movies that are not yet released. This is great because you can see on one screen everything you need to know without taping or going somewhere else. Is the movie I want to watch in one of my services, and if so, which one, and if it is not, I see right there that it hasn’t come out yet, or it has and it is avialble somewhere else, or I can rent it.
I am not asking to replicate the same functionality as Reelgood, but maybe to share ideas on how Trakt can be improved to show more valuable info with fewer clicks or taps.
Thank you!
I just released updates to allow “none” in the watch now filters. You can use this to hide anything already streaming on your favorite services. More details and screenshots in the release notes.
This is awesome, thank you very much, Justin! I just tested the new filters, and they work great. I appreciate your taking my feedback into consideration!
