Okay, I’ll admit there’s a bit too much frustration on my end here. But I just can’t stand what you’re doing to my beloved Trakt. Instead of just complaining, here’s my suggestion:
Why don’t you just roll out v3 for new users instead of forcing all existing free users to switch? People who have been using this for years shouldn’t be forced into a half-finished version.

Throwing in my two cents. I set up my Trakt account years and years ago but fell off using it. Last year I was looking to solve the media tracking problem once again and came back to discover just how cool Trakt had become. It supported just about anything I could want to do in a nice logical way. The ability to sync with streaming services was enough to convince me to become a paying member. I raved about it so much that my dad joined as well. Now he’s asking me what happened to the website. I told him he could revert to V2 but then found out that because he’s a free user that’s not an option.
As a new user, he is not a fan of the new flow at all and is already looking for a replacement. He’d rather go back to his manual spreadsheets and I can’t blame him. I really can’t believe Trakt is going to the “everything’s a horizontal list where you can only see three things at a time” model. It’s ugly, hard to scan visually, and is fixing things that weren’t broken. I’d rather have the option to use V2, forever frozen in time and features, then ever move to V3.

I never post in the forums and I just have to say, if V3 becomes permanent, I’m not renewing my VIP subscription. I’d rather give money to another platform. I’d even put up with using Plex’s internal social options. You guys really need to turn back before it’s too late. I can see a future this site going under.

Well this is annoying, I am a long time VIP user, and am being treated to being forced to login to some app on firefox? With sending me an email code or some garbage? I have been VIP for a lot of years, now I end up redirected every time and it is truly irritating me. The system as it was worked nearly perfectly, logging in was easy, not any more. I am an old person, I do not deal well with change.

So why are long term VIP users being re-directed to V3 and some stupid login system? FYI, most sane people eliminate all cookies at the end of each session. I paid good money for many years to use V2, which is a fantastic system, and no offence, I couldn’t care less what the free users prefer, let them pay and then have a say.

Just want to throw my hat in the ring.. v3 is quite the downgrade. I’ve had to uninstall the app because it doesn’t work for half the things I want.

you may have to log out and back in. it happens for me on mobile and desktop sometimes and that fixes it
They definitely are. The main competitor is currently working on adding re-watches due to the influx of Trakt users moving to the platform that want it. Also self hosting options have been improving recently to cater to ex Trakt users as well.
It’s only a matter of time before they become better than what V2 era of Trakt were

What cookie needs to be set/reset/erased to stay on the classic / V2? Frustrating that there’s no clear or easy option to do so
Even though my VIP is still active I can’t open V2. Clearing cookies didn’t work.
Well I guess the end came sooner than expected.
I’m not one of those bystanders who watches road accidents, so I’m just gonna drop out of this misery.

I can’t open V2 either.
Thought it was just me but maybe v2 is now history.
Still have time left on my sub, so decision to renew is a ways out, but I’ll have to consider if supporting Trakt still make sense. I don’t want to see Trakt go the way TV Time just did as the reason it’s gone sees to be operating the platform as a free service became financially unsustainable, and there was not enough demand to support a paid subscription model.

I logged out cleared cache and all in hopes of getting back to v2 but now I can’t even login at all. Stupid email code or link sign-in not working.

Just received the Product Update email. It does refer to v3 being default for all… after the fact.
