For users who want to remove items from Up Next, Progress and Calendars without losing their watched history, the hide feature has been available for some time. However, hiding shows used to be somewhat confusing as it required hiding them in multiple locations.
We’ve now streamlined the process, making it easier to drop shows across the Trakt website, Trakt Lite, and our mobile apps.
Why Use the Drop Feature?
Lost interest in a show?
The second season doesn’t hold up to the first?
Found something better to watch?
Dropping shows helps declutter your Up Next, Progress, and Calendars making it easier to focus on what you actually enjoy watching.
How can I drop a show?
Dropping a show on the Trakt website
Tap the ⊖ icon for any show in your Up Next, Progress, and Calendars . Indicate when you dropped it, then it will be instantly removed from all 3 sections.
Tap the three dots in the editing menu of any show in your Up Next section and select Drop Show ⊖. The show will be removed from your Up Next list while keeping your watch history intact.
The show disappears from Up Next, your full Watched Progress and from your Calendars. Dropped shows won’t be included in any email notifications you have enabled.
What happens to my watched history when I drop a show?
Nothing. Your watch history remains as ism unless you manually delete the plays.
How can I undrop (resume) a show?
Just start watching it again, and we’ll automatically undrop it for you.
Where can I view dropped shows?
Dropped shows can be managed in your settings page on the website and restored with one click. When viewing the summary page of a dropped show on the website, you can also click the ⊖ icon in the poster to restore the show.
What if I previously hid shows from your progress or calendars?
You can transfer them over using the Trakt website. Go to your watched progress or calendars hidden items, and click the button up top.
When viewing the summary page for a dropped show, the poster and fanart will be grayscale. You’ll also see the ⊖ icon over the poster. Hover over the icon to see when you dropped it. Click the icon and you’ll have the option to restore the show.
When viewing any global pages (trending, popular, search, etc) dropped shows will also be grayscale with the ⊖ icon. Same thing applies, hover to see the date and click to restore the show.
