Help-Watch history and continue watching missing data

Hello @support Since yesterday, my watch history and continue watching are missing most of the earlier data. All other records, which are currently available in history, have got the watch date of yesterday. I did notice that some other users have also reported a similar issue. Please advice which option to go for Reset browser data or reset progress data?

Just to add to the above, I am happy to wait. I don’t want to try anything that will make the situation worse than it currently is. I would rather wait for a proper fix, given that the majority of the other users are also facing a similar issue, and it’s not just me alone.

they’re aware of the issue

Thanks for your response. The problem is, in my case, even if I have watched a movie, say a year back, and I search in Trakt, it still shows me as if I have watched the movie yesterday. Basically, everything in my history is being reported as watched yesterday, so weird. Hopefully the devs will provide a fix soon, until then, I am not going to mark anything as watched, even manually.

that might be a third party app issue then. what third party apps do you have linked to your trakt account

check this thread: History flooded with unseen S0 episodes - #8 by Sersadi

Having this issue too. Many shows I have already watched show in continue watching. Yet clicking the show, its marked as watched.

Newly aired shows do not appear, some do, most do not. Tried resetting data, a few times, does nothing. Tried hard cache refresh, clearing cookies, issue remains. Exists on app and other devices too. Been like this for a few months.

Tried setting up a new account to test, imported data, issue exists there too.

Also in the upcoming panel, things look fine, however when clicking to calendar view, shows vanish again.

I remember Moviebase and Showly. Is there somewhere I can check that in my Trakt account?

yeah you can find it in your settings: https://app.trakt.tv/settings/advanced

then go to the Connected Apps tab and look there

yours sounds like a different issue, you may want to try to find another thread that has a similar issue or start a new topic

Thanks. Do you reckon resetting the progress data is worth a try?

its worth a shot but not likely to help in my opinion

I will export the current data, just to be safe. Is below the process to do that?

there’s a newer exporter in the settings page i linked to you above, use that one but it should be basically the same

Thanks. I did notice I have several apps connected to my trakt account under that connected app section. So, even if something from that has caused this issue, there is no way of going back now, right? To be honest, at this stage I don’t mind everything being shown as watched yesterday. I just want my ‘Continue Watching’ section back, which at the moment is completely clean (no entries)

you’d have to appeal to support, maybe message them directly to see if they can assist. Something like this happened to me a few years ago and they were able to restore my data

Hi @Sonply can you please look into my issue? Basically, all my records have two watch histories: one is the actual one, and the other one is from the 24th of May. Is it possible to just retain the actual watch history?

Anything that was in my “Continue Watching” has been removed from the section, they are not marked as watched, just not visible in the section.

Hi,
Can you tell me the title of 1 of the shows that used to be there and are not anymore?

Usually, when a lot of episodes get marked in an specific date, the cause is a bad sync from a 3rd party app, like it was said before.

@obbaominous Your issue seems different. Can you tell me an example of a show you have watched that is showing up in your continue watching and shouldn’t be?

Thanks for getting back.

Please see below 2 such examples

I have sent you a message as well, you can revert there as well for any further queries.
