How do i see if I have a movie in my collection/library?

I search a movie tap on it but where is the “collected/owned” flag/icon

I’m in a shop, i see a movie on sale, i can’t remember is it on the shelf at home…

I check trakt on my phone as i have done for (I think) 14 years …

I see the movie,

i see I’ve watched it,

i see 300,000 other have watched it,

i see external links,

and loads of other info …

but i look around the page no collection/library info, this is surely a mistake…

No?

How is this Trakt any more?

On the website look to the left hand side menu.

3rd from the bottom is your Library

Once you click on it if you do not have Plex make sure you change the small icon to Custom

You can then filter by Shows or Movies (the default is Media which will show all)

Sorry @changnoi you seem to have missed the point entirely.

This “library” page is no help, I have to scroll and scroll, and manually check each page, i might as well carry around a handwritten list in a notepad.

Its not even worthy of the “library” name, i walk into a library and i can find the book I’m looking for in minutes, because its organised and alphabetical!

It’s locked view is for the order of when i added items, which is terrible! I can’t even change the sorting or filter on this “library” page.

It is virtually useless

Sorry I missed the point entirely

Was just trying to help Your question: but i look around the page no collection/library info, this is surely a mistake…

And that is what I thought I answered. Where to find your Library.

If you had asked how do I find something that is (or is not) in my Library then maybe I could have got you the answer you now ask.

No worries, we all make mistakes.

The quote you have pasted is not a question.

I did ask that question you suggest, it’s the title of the post.

The rest of the post is simply describing the situation in more detail, i thought that might help.

It’s Trakt that’s screwed up a great service, ideally i would like my question to be answered by them.

they said a few months ago that they’re still deciding what to do with the library and haven’t said anything regarding it since

The only methoid I had found, because months ago I realized that the Collection/Library as we knew it was ceasing, was to duplicate my Library to a list. That at least allowed the functionality of searching and filtering in the new V3 to accomplish exactly what you describe.

Thanks, that’s an option Ive not found, how can i copy the library to a list?

you might need to manually do that. they don’t support that natively. you could try exporting your library but then i don’t think they have a way to import into a list either. Another app like rippple on ios might make it easier for you

I went through a convoluted method of exporting the Library, then importing it into another competitor’s website that did have a method to import from a .csv and create a list. Then managed to add the list here. I’m not sure those methods are still possible. Creating a manual list might be tedious depending on the size of your Library but would once created give you the flexibility you used to experience.
