How do I see what I watched in a certain time period?

Short description of the issue

  • I want to see what movies I watched in 2020.

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • I believe it used to be as simple as going to the 2020 year in review and clicking on the plays. Now, that’s not clickable in the year in review, and History is just an endless scroll with no pages, and no url I can change the date on. What is the best and simplest way to see a list of what I have watched, from ANY time period?

I am not sure how or if it can be done in V3 but there is a way of doing it, which you may or may not like doing and I am sure someone else may give you an easier answer.

I quite often download the Export so that I can manipulate my data.

Go to Settings, Data and click the Export button.

This will download a lot of .JSON files in a .zip file that you can look at.

Find the files (in this case “watched-movies-1” 2 3 etc.)

You will need to combine these files to see all the data together to create your list of movies seen in 2020.

I can let you know how I do it on PC if need be, may not be the correct way but it works for me.

Yeah i thought about doing that, but it’s way too much effort given this used to be an extremely simple task a year ago

I suppose it depends on the effort you want to put in to get what you want if there is no current option to do so in Trakt

It doesn’t take me that long to get the info I want.

this feels like a weirdly condescending reply. I have 127 JSON files of watched history, yeah, it’s a whole lot of effort to sort through all that for something that used to take about 3 clicks, tf?

Sorry, in no way was I trying to be condescending so I apologise if you feel that.

I often extracted lots of .CSV files in V2

And because I couldn’t do what I wanted in V3 I found a way I could carry on doing what I wanted.

Yes it is not 3 clicks but I can easily get to view the information I want/need until such times as Trakt gives us that easy way of getting it.

I am very happy to share with you the steps I take to get the information, it is quite easy and you don’t need to go through those 127 files individually.

I’m an old git that has hardly any tech knowhow so if I can do it anyone should be able too.

I’ve worked with .CSV files, I know how to do it, to be frank, what you are suggesting is just not what I’m looking for. It’s great that you don’t mind making that extra effort, but it shouldn’t be necessary.
