How to stop social activity from merging episodes

Short description of the issue

  • When someone in your network saw a show, Social Activity used to show each episode and the time it was seen. Now it merges episodes and seasons and shows it as one visualization. I don’t see a setting to revert it.

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • Imagine someone on your network saw three episodes of a show last Monday. The Social Activity section would show three separate entries like “S3 - E1”, “S3 - E2”, “S3 - E3”, each with the timestamp of when it was seen.

  • Now, it merges episodes from the same show/season, and shows entries like “Season 3”, “3 eps. of season 3” or “S3 - E1-3”, so even multiple notations for the same number of episodes.

  • This happens on the website, but not on the Android app, which makes it more confusing.

  • I don’t see a way to revert this in settings.

Yes, i notice that too. No point in that indeed.

You cannot only post your request in https://roadmap.trakt.tv/ and :crossed_fingers:

Just noticed the same thing now happens with the new view the Calendar. With the old one, there’d be a line per episode, it was much clearer

in that case they might be airing both episodes at once as an hour long thing

It’s still two episodes, I don’t follow

It’d be one thing if it were a special, but in that case it’d be one episode, not “E1-2”
Multiple episodes from a show airing simultaneously isn’t anything new, but in that case the old view would show them as separate lines (with the separate titles) as I mentioned above

i mean they’re probably putting them both together because they air right after each other so it’s a waste of space to separate them. the airing times would be on the episode details still

But my point - and that of the post - is that this is a behavior change from the previous version. Just like grouping by show instead of by date on the calendar. Or changing the language to “in 4 days” instead of “Monday 27 JUL”, for example. Changes that made both features less intuitive for me, which is why I’m asking if there’s a setting to revert them.

Whether or not it’s a waste of space is debatable, and I’m asking for a setting to change this because I personally don’t think it’s a waste of space, I find it was much clearer with that info there.

And the airing times being present on the episode details, besides implying more clicks (one to open the first of the group, another to check the following episode, and even more clicks if we’re talking about social activity instead of calendar), feels a bit irrelevant as it doesn’t change the actual view on the dashboard, where I want to see the information I used to be able to see.

What you’re saying is not wrong, it’s just not what the post is about.

i gotcha. as far as i’ve seen there’s no setting to change that episode grouping thing. and i also don’t like the “in 4 days” language, i liked seeing the date and time it was going to air as well. there was a setting for that but it looks to be removed as well

This seems somewhat related to the topic of the post and you seem to know your way around here. For that first item, I know it’s the premiere, but is there a way (even if on another page) to know how many episodes I’ve got left, like for the other shows on the list?

if you click on the continue watching title it takes you to a larger display page, but it doesn’t look like that changes anything

but if you go to your progress page on your profile (here) it looks like you can always see the number of episodes remaining

Hmm, I see. Thanks
