Short description of the issue

  • I’m trying to import a new TV show from TMDB using the “Import TV Show” button in the footer, but instead of adding the show it just loads the search page on Trakt and says the show can’t be found

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • The TMDB ID is “324789”, but when putting this into the “Import TV Show” TMDB ID box and click “Import TV Show”, the search page just opens with “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.” and “We found 0 results for ID 324789.”

you just added the tvdb id today, it can take up to 24 hours for it to import into trakt mostly due to TMDBs own API taking several hours to pick up changes

Ah, good to know. Thanks. The loop to the search page didn’t really make that clear. I also just re-read the docs and see it says it needs an IMDB ID as well. I can’t find the show on IMDB and it’s a local show so that isn’t a surprise as NZ is pretty slack at listing information on there, but the show is backed and produced by our national broadcast company. Will this make a difference?

for tv shows, as long as you have either imdb or tvdb then you’re good. movies only have the option for imdb

Related to import but not this… Been following the update thread and the end of June forced migration to V3 for VIP, but non-VIP can’t reply. What will happen to import when it doesn’t exist on V3? It was so nice to be able to do that without all the extra work.

Is that something you could ask there? Thanks.

stuff will auto import if the required ids are added otherwise we just tell them here until they add an import option on the site
