Using the GDPR TV Time export, I got some lists showing in Trakt now, but not all. What gives? I’ve tried everything
Ok so first, I used the importer when the news first dropped, a few weeks ago? And when I did so, zero of my lists transferred. I posted another topic similar to this about using Android. I’m doing everything on my PC now.
Today is the day, so I’m trying to figure things out. I also saw an update that the importer is working better now..? So I figured I’d try again. I used the TV Time importer, uploaded my GDPR zip, and this time it said “633 list items”. After completing the process, 3 of my Lists came through, but a bunch didn’t. So now I know that it is indeed possible to import lists from TV Time, but it just isn’t completely working which is almost more frustrating…
I haven’t used TV Time since the news dropped, and I grabbed my export. I figured I’d update a few shows, and try to export my data again, get a “fresh” one..? But when I got to TV Time - GDPR Data Export it doesn’t refresh. It just allows me to download the same GDPR.
So next, I tried the “Liberator extension”. Installed in my Chrome browser, completed that, using the button/link that appears on the ext itself. This added a few more shows to my History… nice I guess, but no Lists.
Then I tried to upload the Liberator zip “tv-time-export” to the TV Time import tool. No lists.
So in my research I’d heard about these “json” files. So I looked into the zip folder, and found those and the csv files!.. Encouraging… but nope… When I attempted to upload “lists.json” nothing happened.
So I tried a different .json file, favorites. Nothing. Then “shows.json”… Success! It displayed “492 items for History”. So this confirms that json files do indeed work, just not the one that I need lol Lists… ugh, so frustrating
I moved on to trying the csv files. I did all of them. Again, some shows/history updated, but no Lists. (ex pictured below: “list_beautiful_beginnings_”)
So lastly, since I’d imported and updated a buncha records, I hoped maybe the original GDPR import would work better. So I did that again and noticed that the Lists import says 633, but it stops at 246 for some reason, consistently, every time I try the import. So that definitely seems like the issue.
I really tried to thoroughly explain everything, and provide detailed pics. Please, PLEASE help me resolve this. The fact that a few Lists did properly import means it’s possible!
