Keep getting Logged Out

Short description of the issue

  • I’m using Trakt on an Google TV running Nova Player and it keeps randomly logged me out of Trakt. I also keep getting logged out of Trakt on my PC too. It happens about once every 6 to 7 days.

We are investigating why some users are getting logged out earlier than expected.

What is the log out time if it is happening “earlier than expected”?

More importantly, WHY is there a logout time? Trakt is a tracking service, not a banking app. You don’t need to be logging users out after X amount of time.

Hi,
Logins should be valid for a while, especially if you keep using the website regularly since it refreshes. Getting logged out after 1 week isn’t expected and some users have been reporting this issue. Those are the cases we are investigating.

you can add my account to the list of reported accounts. i’ve been getting logged out after about a week pretty regularly now for a few weeks

Same here. Came to this forum because I’m logged out all the time on the website version.

Every few days, or even after 2 weeks. It’s not a banking app as Ducky said, let it be a 6+ months (I’m not going to use the website regularly compared to the app).

It’s such a pain because Trakt requires magic links to login and I don’t have my personal emails on my Mac where I open the website. Wouldn’t be an issue if I could use my password manager (with a strong password or passkey).

The iOS & tvOS apps aren’t impacted.

Yes, please change it back or fix it. If there is a reason this cannot be fixed then change back to username/password.

Just yesterday the PC open i went to get a nap, click on my bookmark, please login. i didn’t out of spike

Also if any changes are being made please, please fix the problem of the 5-minute timeout being too short. It’s ridiculous and many of us have problems with emails taking longer than 5 minutes to arrive. There’s no justification for such a short timeout.

Obviously, the elephant in the room is f I could log back in with a stupid awkward username/strong secure password like I was always able to in the past, then there would be no need to worry about the occasional logout.
