I use Letterboxd for movies not Trakt and I would like to collapse the movie sections or have an option to disable them. On mine they are empty and are a nuisance

Yeah, totally get your point about those empty movie sections being a nuisance. It’s just wasted space on the homepage when they’re not relevant to you. Good feedback.
We’re definitely looking into addressing this.
The tricky part about just automatically hiding them when they’re empty is the classic front-end problem: content jumps. When sections dynamically appear or disappear, it makes the layout shift around, and that’s generally a pretty jarring user experience that we’re trying hard to avoid.
We’re still thinking through different options for handling situations like this more effectively down the road. Exploring ways to give users more control over their homepage layout, perhaps letting you pick and choose which sections are visible, is one avenue we’re considering for a more complete solution.
In the meantime, as an intermediate step, I’ll try to add a collapse action to these sections. And yes, that collapsed state will be persistent, so they stay hidden the way you leave them.
