šŸ’¬ New Trakt Feedback

Thank you and good bye! You used to be a good product. You are no longer that. I’m therefore moving on to one of your more sensible competitors.

Regards,

Daniel

Maaan I used to love and recommend this site a lot. What is this new ugly UI? Users are giving you feedback, please bring back the previous UI.

I think the new UI is only a matter of getting used to. But one of the features I liked about the previous version was the ability to organize viewing order. Can we have an order by (rank, alphabetical, release date, etc) in the Continue Watching/Progress page?

I am not sure if it’s just getting used to

It’s a piece of crap. Its not really worth getting used to. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

What chaos happened to my Trakt?! How can I restore my usable dashboard overview opposed to this horror? I can’t find the option to pick a sane layout/theme.

I really don’t mind the new V3 design on desktop, but on mobile it’s horrendous. Especially on the movie/episode page. You were able to see almost every important info/stat/button at one glance. Now, there’s so much wasted space, the different font sizes draw the attention to the wrong things, and the horizontal scrolling is very counterintuitive.

Questions/What I am missing:

  1. Where can I see when and how many times I’ve watched a movie/episode? (I want to see date and time like I used to!)
  2. Where can I see how many items my list contains? And how many I have left until I reach my limit?
  3. Bring back the list for favorite actors!

What I would change:

  1. Watched history: I want to be able to endlessly scroll instead of clicking through the weeks. Or at least provide a filter option to quickly skip through months and years.
  2. Watched history: let me filter by movie, show, episode, and everything (like we used to be able to).
  3. Actor page: I want to see all projects an actor was in. In chronological order, not separated into movies vs. shows. (Like it used to be)
  4. Movie/show/episode page: Why are the details split in two? Under the title/in the beginning (where it should be & where it used to be) and collapsed down at the very bottom?
  5. Show/episode page: The actors should be separated into season regulars and guest again (like it used to be).

Funny you should say that, when I saw this intro for Stitch, my first thought was how familiar those things look/feel….

If this horrible, ugly, non-user friendly UI is not reverted by April 10th, I am going to stop using the site.

LISTEN TO YOUR USERS, THE NEW UI IS UTTER TRASH.

It’s so much worse when you put them like that. How they can just throw away a site with such utility to replace it with just acres of white space is beyond me.

Regression after the new version

We can no longer mark an episode as ā€œwatchedā€ if it hasn’t aired in the US yet. However, I am in France and I watch episodes that are released earlier than in the US.

For example, on Crunchyroll, Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord episode 11 was released on March 18, 2026, while it only airs in the US on March 21.

Could you please allow users again to mark episodes as watched even if they haven’t aired in the US yet, so that it remains compatible with other countries?

Thank you.

Oh, so we can’t use the V2 in any way now? Great, let me know when/if it’s reverted, I’ll be going elsewhere with my data.

V3 is hot garbage. Properly ensh*ttified.

I mean, it’s basically the same, so there’s wasted space on both  I just don’t mind so much on desktop because the screen is also much bigger and I can scroll faster/better. But maybe it’s inefficiently used space and not so much wasted space, although it does feel like the latter to me just because the space in V2 mobile was used perfectly!

Just compared to V2 you get way less information at first glance and since that’s my preferred way to use Trakt, I strongly dislike it. But tbh, I’m still on V2 on mobile. After all the screenshots I couldn’t bring myself to update.

The reason i joined trakt years ago was so i could ā€œtraktā€ my shows i watch on kodi. The functionality i used for that, my progress now seems to be gone. It was the main and only reason i kept trakt, why i was VIP for a bit and the only reason i ever return. The whole point of this website was for tracking watched media, especially tv so i knew where i was in a season and when new seasons aired.

This new version has apparently removed that feature and then obscured it further by forcing the new methods to use a day by day calendar. I can rewind day by day to see what ive watched and i can fast forward day by day to see whats coming, but i cant see where i am now or when something new in my collection has started and i missed it. Not to mention theres now no way i can see to view whats in my collection episode wise or see uncollected episodes of past seasons. If there is then this new version isnt as clean and intuitive as you think. Why do people feel the need to change just for the sake of change?

Nevermind i finally found where it is, ā€œcontinue watchingā€. The only remaining issue is the filter doesnt include and order by and my go to on this page was order by release date which showed me all new releases.

Where did the episode comments go on this abysmal new version?? Are they just completely gone??

Obviously the new UI is a mess on the web. Very hard to even figure how how to scroll over to other episodes beyond the first 6 since there is no visible scroll bar… I tried to pull on the images like you’d do with your finger on a phone but that didn’t work. I did eventually figure out there was a hidden scroll bar although the scrolling is very slow.

But is there no way to go to previous and next episode easily from an episode? Before there were big arrows and it was impossible to miss, but now I genuinely see nothing that seems to allow it. This can’t be accurate and I’m missing something right?

I need the Progress tab back. I used to use it all the time for sorting my show, usually by time left, but also by many other criteria depending on my needs at that moment. Now it’s all gone. There’s only history, which doesn’t allow to filter out individual episodes anymore (I used to use the ā€œshowsā€ view all the time), and Continue watching, which is not sortable in any way. Unfortunately I still haven’t found an app that fully replaces Trakt (what it used to have anyway), but I’m migrating to Showly for now (sadly mobile only and a forced dark mode). If anyone has any better recommendations, please let me know.

That’s true, but it has more features. Unfortunately I haven’t found anything better yet, if I do, I’ll switch. But I’m truly okay with continuing supporting Trakt (as a free user though), if they improve again (which I highly, highly doubt, but hope dies last). That’s why I posted it, making it known what feature I miss, in case the devs are actually interested in fixing anything.

Hi Kevin

What I could really use at the moment since I must now use the new layout is a how to guide on how to use the core features that I used previously e.g. how do I rate an episode or film, there’s only the option to remove the watched thing when I click the three dots on that item in my history. Also, ā€œwhere is my historyā€ was a question I spend a long time trying to figure out after I had marked something in the Continue Watching section as watched.

Definitely a how to guide on how to use the basic features of Trakt in the new layout would be so useful - despite having used computers for about 25 years at this point and having a degree in software engineering, I’m not finding it very intuitive :frowning: but as with any new software, I’m willing to read a manual to learn to use it!
