This is crucial for me. I use the information displayed here (including the episode count on hover) to determine how much of a “quota” I want to target each day.
If anybody’s curious, my quota is determined by [Total Time] / [Num of Episodes] * [Num of Shows] / 7
The idea is I’d like to watch enough of my backlog each day to cover the equivalent of watching one episode of each of my shows each week.
I also need the sorting mode I have set here to work correctly so that it rotates between my shows as I watch them.
Overall though I would recommend you do a full recreation of all of the existing functionality, with a design that is very closely matching classic trakt, just with the new “under the hood” stuff baked in, and only make minor improvements to the UI rather than a sweeping overhaul.
Also, why is “watch again” hidden away in a drop down menu? This is easily accessible functionality with the classic design. The check in button covered both new and rewatches. It just makes sense to keep a check in button like that.
You’re just doing too much. There’s no reason for any of this.
Well a thread asking to revert V3 was closed with this one:
Interestingly “The goal is not to remove workflows before v3 can properly support them. Feature parity on web remains the milestone before any permanent switch.” contradicts statements made before about evaluating everything before getting into V3 (which we can see how well that went for the now reverted announced library changes)… what is it now?
Honestly just browsing around I cannot even bother to really care anymore… I see rushed changes, glorifying progress reports and updates basically calling all of us whiny and rude while ensuring the feedback is accounted for yet no effort is put into tracking it or tunneling it… nothing came of Sean supposedly fixing up the desktop experience either as new changes for it are being made which I doubt have seen any design document… guess we are getting around to it in another 6 to 12 months! Meanwhile I’ll make sure to sync trakt up to backup services for the inevitable rug pull.
The interface is much sleeker and more modern. Love the look.
My only complaint so far is that the Trakt list functionality is difficult to use (at least on a desktop browser). I use lists extensively and would prefer the ability to multi-select (currently, each time a list is selected, the selection pop-up disappears) and the ability to search as well. But, if those features aren’t coming, the ability to simply sort the list of lists would be very helpful.
“V2 Is still open!” Trakt says as they redirect you to V3 every single time. Hopefully everyone boycotting this shit version until they revert it will hurt their monetization enough for them to actually do something. This is ridiculous.
the most comprehensive feedback about why mobile-’optimized’ design will never work for larger browser UIs, and yet, given this was posted two months ago, it’s apparently fallen on deaf dev ears
Curious question: How do you think boycotting V3 as a non-VIP user will hurt their monetization? Unless you are a non-VIP user that will eventually pay to upgrade to VIP when you see a VIP only feature that is of interest to you, you are of no value to them.
I suspect there are currently a lot of non-VIP members that are/were using the free version after cancelling their VIP subscription due to the price increase. Those users (of which I am one) will likely never subscribe to VIP again on account of some of the questionable decisions made by the Trakt team over the last year and a bit. Forcing those free-loading users (again, of which I am one) on to V3 is likely going to lead to a lot of non-VIP accounts being abandoned/deleted out of frustration. This will only serve to reduce load on the infrastructure. Which I believe from the perspective of the current Trakt team is a win.
i would like to be able to see the upcoming series again in the calender. This was so easy to follow up on the episodes i’m following and what show i was following and watching. Also it would be handy if you just could look up upcoming shows by year. Because when you look up something by year it searches for titles with the year in it, but not for actually new and upcoming shows.
I would like the progress bar back, and also being able to see a watch list without having to go back week by week. It would be nice to just have a list of everything you watched in a genre or something like that.
I really hate this UI. Basic information i could see at a glance now is really hard to find or not visible at all. And i can’t even mark as watched an episode if according to the web it hasn’t released yet…maybe it is time to move on and find a new home (i have been here since 2018 T.T)
This change is horrible. My eyes hurt from looking at this, literally. It is just too white. UI is not intuitive. There is LESS information on screen. I need more clicks for whatever i want to do. It is just bad overall. I don’t think I’ll be visiting soon. And I’m a member for 10+ years at least.
