Samsung and LG are the market leaders in TV sales. I own a Samsung TV myself. Are there any plans to “complete” the Trakt app gallery with apps for webOS and Tizen OS? With a web client, apps for Android phones & tablets, for Apple phones & tablets, Samsung TVs, LG TVs, Apple TVs, and general Android TVs, almost everyone would be covered.
Developing these additional TV apps would also present the perfect opportunity to redesign the two current TV apps to match the new UI design. They might have been similar to LITE at some point, but the displayed sections and the design aren’t matching anymore (clashing with the goal of a “Unified Experience Across Platforms”).
webOS support was planned at some point (we even started the distribution process but we were blocked along the way), but we decided to focus on the other platforms for now.
Priorities will probably be:
Unified Experience Across for currently supported Platforms (you are right here, there’s still some work to be done on Android TV and Apple TV → inside this, priority is: mobile, then TV),
Make all those experiences better (missing features, new features),
When we are good on 1. and 2., we can think about expanding to other platforms like webOS and Tizen.
