“Hanma Baki vs Kengan Ashura” brings up nothing, the exact title “Baki Hanma vs Kengan Ashura” does (only the name order for Baki was different).
When looking for the “Sand Land” TV show (fully titled “Sand Land: The Series”) it’s far from the top result… Imgur: The magic of the Internet Why would “Leave No Trace” " La La Land" “Landscape with Invisible Hand” or “The Sandman” be more relevant?
I have no idea why anyone would search for episodes. I’m only interested in tv shows and movies. (And actors if I can’t find a movie with a generic name so I’ll try to find it via an actor).
I’ve been able to find everything (except that actress I mentioned earlier).
Before and after the update. I don’t notice any difference.
The trakt episode search was always surprisingly decent for finding loose episodes of bbc/c4 docu shows etc but I never tried it with the show title attached
Looks like the quote/apostrophe bug is not fixed if ', “” completely break search then.
The TV show “Modern Marvels” has 23 seasons and 723 episodes. Trying to find a specific episode of this show is ridiculously difficult with a broken search function.
The search is way better than before, considering the use-cases most people end up in.
Let’s admit. Most of us would search for a movie title and mistype a character than search for a specific episode title from a specific show. I’m not saying it shouldn’t work in that case as well, I’m just saying “getting back to something that worked better” is not the case for the most of us.
These are some good examples I’ll need to experiment with more. It’s doing fuzzy searches and must be bumping other results higher to account for typos and more popular items. Adding double quotes around most of these searches improves the relevance, especially when it comes to translated titles.
I added a new search feature when viewing any season or all episodes for a show. There is a new icon to enter any terms, which will search and filter the list of episodes. This can be a better alternative then using the general search engine if you already know which show you’re trying to search within.
Double quotes do work but it’s not really something I’d want to deal with every time.
All examples still fail when searched today. Having a trailing space also fucks up the search …
Still isn’t fixed btw. and also affects the quick search. eg. “I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!” only appears with the “!” at the end.
Not 100% related but I didn’t think it was worth a new thread but I can’t delete the top two search history entries.
Is it also possible to either switch off tracking of searches and also trending searches? I’m not interested in what I’ve previous searched for and definitely aren’t interested in what other people are searching for.
Finally, in the app (iOS) it isn’t possible clear search history at all. Please can this be added?
