Season 2 of "A Wild Last Boss Appeared!" vanished

Short description of the issue

  • The series is publishing its second season right now. And trakt has a data issue with this anime. At first there was an entry for the second season Trakt Web: Track Your Shows & Movies . Then all the episodes of the second season had been appended after episode 12 of season 1, essentially duplicating every season 2 episode. And now the second season vanished and all my watch history of the second season has been migrated to the duplicated entry inside season 1.

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • There is also an issue with the schedule. The episodes are 1 week behind. For example the latest episode (Season 2 Episode 5) has aired yesterday (24.10.2026), but trakt says it (Season 1 Episode 17) will air on 31.10.2026

  • This is because on the first release date (03.10.2026), there were the first AND the second episode published.

  • Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta! 2nd Season - MyAnimeList.net (unfortunately MAL also reports the episode air dates like trakt. So they are also 1 week behind.)

Season 2 was removed because TMDb, which Trakt uses as its data source, counts it as part of Season 1. The show officially numbers the new episodes consecutively, with Season 2 starting at Episode 13, so TMDb treats them as a continuation of Season 1 rather than a separate season. (I’m not a fan of this approach, but there’s not much that can be done since the TMDb mod team has made its choice on this many times)

As for the one-week delay, both TMDb and MAL use official release dates, which generally align with the episodes’ first TV broadcasts in Japan. I’ve never found a reason, but Crunchyroll manages to release episodes a week early for a handful of shows each season. Despite airing early, these releases are still considered simulcasts rather than official releases.
(This rule makes more sense but is still annoying from a tracking perspective)
