I’m experiencing an issue with the 3.2 beta version and wanted to check if anyone else is facing the same problem or knows a fix.
Some shows that were previously in my “Start Watching” section have disappeared. In most cases, these are shows where I had also marked the first episode as “Library.” In the previous version, doing this would automatically push them into my “Continue Watching,” which was important for me to keep track of them.
I’ve tried removing those first episodes from my library, but it didn’t solve the issue. I also removed and re-added the shows to my watchlist, but they still don’t show up in “Continue Watching.”
Is this a bug in the 3.2 beta, or is there a workaround to fix it? I’d really like these shows to appear again in my “Continue Watching” section.
Can you confirm if what you’re seeing for the sections/issue you’re referring to is the same on both the iOS app and app.trakt.tv?
If you have some screenshots or reproduction steps for a specific item that would help clarify the issue.
Right now your Start Watching should consist of only your watchlisted shows and movies, and Continue Watching should consist of only shows you’ve added at least one episode to history (or movies you’ve started watching via scrobbling such as through Plex sync). Your Library is otherwise not taken into consideration here as far as I understand it.
As of today, all but one of the shows that had been appearing in Start Watching have vanished from Start Watching. Elsewhere, under lists, my Watchlist still exists and has everything it should have, which is everything that had been appearing in Start Watching but no longer is.
I think my original request for clarification still stands. From what I can test from my end, even trying to replicate using your (@bixfrankonis) watchlist, it appears to be working as intended so I need a little more than “its vanished”.
If you can please check app.trakt.tv and compare with the iOS app and send me a screenshot of each if it’s different, and then let me know what you’re expecting to see there. Perhaps a screenshot from your watchlist of the items that are missing.
Okay, so it doesn’t matter how I view Trakt. Website and app are exactly the same. Where yesterday Start Watching had the contents of my Watchlist (seen here partially), today it does not. It just has one item.
The same issue occurs if you change your media toggle (at the top) that is set to “Shows” in your screenshots to “Media”, the left most option.
I’m not sure it’ll make much difference, but check that the same issue occurs if you resize the window really small as if it’s a mobile device (so as to see if the horizontal scroll is there and displays more items)
The Trakt iOS app version you’re running (Profile > Settings > Scroll to bottom)
That the iOS app is actually displaying only a single item also?
Shouldn’t be necessary but clearing the browser cache and/or logging out and back in might help.
And confirming if another browser has the same issue might help the web guys investigate.
I’ve tried to reproduce the issue on iOS similar to your web screenshots by loading Start Watching based on your watchlist and it loads as expected (newest first):
Someone else would have to investigate the web issue, but my best guess is there’s a bug that isn’t loading enough items to display in the “no horizontal scroll” layout the web uses, or some other weird cache issue.
Weird, well I guess let me know if it happens again and revisit the things I mentioned, but if both clients were displaying the same thing at least it means it’s a server related thing that can likely be solved there.
I’ll mark this resolved for now, can revisit if needed.
