Try marking multiple episodes as watched from some show’s Season Special, say Lost, and wait for while. You will find that, in the Show’s page, Season Special is still never watched instead of half watched, and though those episodes will be in the History page, such an episode does not show the purple watched mark in its own page.
Just to confirm. You’ve watched several episodes and are attempting to mark remaining as watched and it’s not taking correct? If not please add some screenshots (gets more attention).
Thanks, @RoiDesRois , not exactly, it only happens to special episodes, which are gathered in Season Specials before Season 1, and I just confirmed that to trigger this problem, one does not have to mark multiple special episodes, but there may be some delay, so clearing cache manually between each step may help with reproducing:
Step 1. Mark an episode from Season Special by clicking the purple mark
Step 2. Season Special appears to be half-watched as expected, but just for now
Optional Step. Clear the cache manually
Step 3. The episode appears in History as expected
Step 4. Click that episode in History to open the episode’s page, where the mark is white instead of purple, which is not expected
Step 1. Go back to Season Special at Step 1/2 to find it turning back to Step 1, which is not expected
Thanks for the details. I tend to ignore specials (can’t actually find them to watch most of the time, other times, not really interested in commentary) but with what you provided an admin should be able to help (or guidance from a VIP).
Can’t agree more, but actually there are some corner cases causing me headaches, where some Specials cannot be neglected, especially for some British Series (e.g. Pilot of Endeavor here, or finales of The Office, Yes, Minister, and Attack on Titan, the anime)
Hi,
Did you try marking the same special episode using the website?
If you didn’t, can you test if it works?
Hi @Sonply, I just tried the web version and through some cross tests, I think I found the problem. A Special actually can be marked, but it cannot be properly shown as marked, together with the related Season Special, in the iOS App, as shown by the last two screenshots in my previous reply. I tried marking from both web and iOS sides to confirm the above conclusion. Thank you for the tip, and now I can mark them with no doubt. Hope this UI problem for iOS can be fixed soon.
Hi,
I’ll ask the developer to take a look. Thanks for reporting this!
Thanks for reporting this. A recent change on the API caused a minor adjustment in the app which lead to specials not being returned. I’ll have a fix in the next version!
You can rest assured that adding specials to your history is not lost, just that the app is not displaying the state correctly until the fix.
This issue can be tracked here otherwise: Specials watched state is not displayed as expected · Issue #143 · trakt/trakt-apple · GitHub
Thank you, @Ohifriend! Looking forward to 3.5 rollout!
Version 3.5 with the fix should be available now!
