Back in July, we renamed Collection to Library . This was more than just a name change. It already reflects a clear direction for what the Library is meant to be. Today, we want to explain what the Library represents, what’s changing, and why. :clapper_board: What the Library Is Meant to Be Going…

I would like that as a compromise. It just feels off to not have a dedicated space for collected media. A list is just not the same.

[image] CajunRob: Are you saying that Plex Sync will now proceed to add them to our newly created List? No, Plex Sync will add them to the Library because it’s automated and actionable. For webhooks, third-party apps/integration, we’ll have to work at the API level. Media Centers already hav…

[image] kcador: This is not the current state but this is something we can work toward Can I get confirmation that it is something you WILL work towards? My physical media means a lot to me, so I want to know if Trakt is something I can depend on in the near future or if I should move over to…

The value of the Collection feature wasn’t just about migrating a physical or digital library into a list; it was about the seamless integration within the UI. Previously, on every movie page, list entry, or search result, we had immediate visual confirmation via icons if a title was in our Watchlis…

I can’t say I really understand what’s changing, given all the confusing back and forth, and I certainly don’t understand why it’s changing. But I want to submit my use case for consideration, because it’s absolutely something I rely on Trakt v2 for and it would be really difficult if this got chan…

[image] ObiJan: since each episode of a collected show counts as one item, that’s not as much as it sounds) That’s not true though. Only a movie and a series is one item. Seasons and episodes are all counted together towards the 100-limit. At least, that’s what always been said

that’s correct but some people either manually add individual episodes to their library/collection or their plex sync or other media center syncing adds episodes individually which would count that way unfortunately
