Too many requests and error 429

Hello, when I try to authorize trakt configuration for mediaportal, I get the following error:

Protocol Error, Code = ‘429’, Description = ‘Too Many Requests’, Url = ‘``https://api.trakt.tv/oauth/device/code’``, Headers = ‘Connection: keep-alive, Retry-After: 254, Referrer-Policy: same-origin, Server-Timing: cfEdge;dur=17,cfOrigin;dur=0, X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN, CF-RAY: 98c082993c0eed4c-MXP, alt-svc: h3=“:443”; ma=86400, Content-Length: 16, Cache-Control: private, max-age=0, no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0, Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8, Date: Thu, 09 Oct 2025 20:08:28 GMT, Expires: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:01 GMT, Server: cloudflare’

and I didn’t authenticate to Trakt. Could you help me?

Why you laughing?

I used this mediaportal plugin for years and never a issue.

Suddenly this without changing anything.

Hello @support , any updates about this issue?

It seems the plugin is sending too many requests and getting rate limited by the Trakt API. Do you have specific steps before you got this error? For example, how many times did you try to authenticate or was this the first time you tried to auth?

Well, I don’t know if it was a case, but I unchecked the option “Sync Playback (resume) data on Startup/Resume“ from MediaPortal Trakt plugin:

and the last two watched episodes scrobbled without error. I will see for the next plays.

Unfortunately the issue is still there.

I didn’t do any particular action: it happened suddenly, same plugin version, same settings, etc.

I just don’t understand.
