Trakt gets a makeover!

I’m seeing something weird in the Progress view after the makeover with grid view selected for watched date.

Rows are no longer being filled for the full width. Earlier today rows one and two were filled completely with a single show on row 3. After watching a few episodes row 2 is no longer fully populated. Which shows are on which row is not based on the date watched. Three shows on the first row were watched yesterday as were two shows put on the second row.

Is there a setting I’m missing to fully populate all rows on the progress screen?

Should identify that this is using the Edge browser.

I am one of those. Second time visiting just to see if there is some news regarding reverting back the changes. :frowning:
Oh and also because the font change was another trigger for me. I hate it almost as much as the color change.

I unpinned my Chrome Trakt app to update the icon. App still had the old icon, so I uninstalled. Now, there is no Chrome app button for website. I can still install the Trakt forums as an app but no longer the main site. Was this a change with the new branding. I like running this as a pinned app on my PC. If y’all changed this or overlooked this, please restore.

I was able to install the applet using Brave (chromium based) but the icon looks like this :grinning:

Yeah that’s how mine looks on brave with the little install application icon with the downward facing arrow

Installed brave. It also has no app download icon for trakt .tv/dashboard (which is a my main concern as it was a daily driver app) like there used to be on Chrome. Was just using the Trakt forums app download icon as a demonstration of the inconsistency of the web experience on Chrome.

oh sorry, I confused myself, I thought you were talking about the forum as an applet, but yeah you are indeed correct, no option for the dashboard.

I thought it was a marketing campaign for Agatha All Along.

After the changes from 22nd it’s still a nope.
Dark purple too intense, light purple doesn’t match most elements in dark knight at all.
It feels almost like someone higher up said PURPLE! and you all went with it without consulting a few external graphic/product designers.
I’m sticking to old red with custom css.

I prefer the old one.

Chiming in with my own two cents. Nothing new or noteworthy, I’ve been lurking in this thread for a couple of weeks now, but I wanted to feel heard or at least a chance of being heard.

  • The branding change was extremely jarring. Change the colours, or the logo, but please not both at the same time. I worried the site had been defaced, or changed to something else. And even after living with this for 2+ weeks, it’s still consistently hard for me to find the tab or shortcut because it’s a whole new identity.
  • On that note of jarring changes, I really wish there had been some popup modal on first login, something like “Hey we’ve got a new look. Tell us what you think at [link to forum].” This confirmation/acknowledgement that things have changed would’ve helped ease the transition, I think.
  • I’m not a fan of the purple, but I’ll get over it. The red was a signature trademark for many, many years and I’m quite accustomed to it. But things change, and I can adapt, or at least try.
  • I really, really don’t like the logo or its “brand meaning.” Most of all, it looks like it’s a “todo list” app icon, which is confusing. And I don’t feel like that aligns with how I see and use Trakt: it’s not a todo app, these shows aren’t “todo”, it’s for tracking what I have done. I don’t have any specific recommendation here, but I was pretty fond of Trakt’s original unique icon.

Trakt has millions of users. A few hundred comments does not constitute a majority.

In my opinion, this new logo is very ugly; the old one was excellent. There was no need to change it, and they also changed the color palette of the site. What do you all think? I hope they change their minds.

A few more updates released today:

  • Font updated to be less tall and a bit wider. Also adjusted the boldness in a few titles throughout the website.
  • VIP theme switcher between the default purple and classic red.
  • Fixed more link colors, specifically in dropdown filter menus.
  • Removed 1px poster border to improve alignment issues on dashboard on deck and grid progress views.

A few quick observations about that:

General UI Issues:

  • The hover animation for “20204 year to date,” “all time stats,” and “your profile” in the header is not working.
  • Hover effects are also missing for “progress,” “calendar,” “year stats,” and “all time stats” on the dashboard.
  • The bars under “Last 30 Days” have incorrect colors.
  • The footer currently lacks a hover effect.

Progress Page:

  • Titles do not change color as expected, they just get an underline.
  • Checkmarks remain purple; they should be green.

General Styling:

  • The background color of pagination changes to purple and the text to red when hovered over.
  • Clicking on links under the header makes them turn white and adds an underline.
  • The “Manage VIP” referral section still has a purple background.

Shows/Movies Section:

  • The “edit filters” option is showing the grid-template-columns issue again—removing the 66px value seems to resolve it.
  • The same issue applies to the “apply edits” button.
  • additional-stats with-external-links hover effect is also missing

Calendar:

  • The tooltip is still broken—when moving upwards, the cursor interacts with it, causing the background to flicker. set: .tooltip.top {pointer-events: none;}

Settings:

  • The “cookie” button text is unreadable due to a red-on-red color scheme.

Year in Review:

  • The background of “people” is still purple, and those on the edge are getting their background cut off.

Thanks, I will take look. However some of this correct behavior. The red theme is tinting the default color of the new default. It’s not meant to revert or change everything.
