On Trakt Web, I’m unable to play trailers. When I click the “Trailer” button, my browser switches to fullscreen with a YouTube message “Sign in to confirm you’re not a bot” and two buttons/links (“Sign in”, “Learn more”; if I’m using Linux they appear as buttons, when I’m browsing on macOS they appear as text links as in the screen recording). I’m unable to click either button: the mouse cursor does not change to “click” when I hover over either of the buttons, and clicking either button as well as anywhere else in the window changes to a title card style image for the embed; clicking again takes me back to YouTube’s “Sign in to confirm you’re not a bot” message. Exiting fullscreen returns me back to the Trakt page.
I get that YouTube thinks I’m a bot for some reason, and that reason is nothing specifically to do with Trakt. The frustration and usability issue I have is that there is no way around this, specifically no direct link to the YouTube URL.
There was a time, or at least some videos, where clicking on the poster image on Trakt took me directly to a YouTube link for the trailer, but none of the shows I’ve clicked through today have that - hovering over their poster image says “Stream on …” and clicking opens a link to the show on Amazon/Netflix/OtherGeo-lockedStreamingService which really isn’t the same.
