Unable to set up repository locally for open source contributions

Short description of the issue

  • Issue (502 Gateway error) while trying to log in from local dev setup (deno task client:dev:contrib) with the API App Client ID

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • My objective is to contribute to trakt-tv repository on GitHub. I followed through the instructions in the README.md to set up my local environment. I set up a connected API and copy-pasted the Client ID as environment variable.

  • Despite following the same, I am unable to login locally. I am getting 502 Bad Gateway error indicating some problem with the connected app.

  • Here is my link for reference (it has the redirect uri of localhost host hence may not work if you do not have the local app running)

After some playing around, I realised that it was bad data in the cookies. Now I am able to access the OIDC link now, however I am still not able to login.

After I allow connection to my API app, I have redirected to following URL: http://localhost:5173/callback?code=<>&state=<>

Post which, I am redirected to http://localhost:5173/?_cb=1768653810325.
After this nothing seems to happen, i.e. I am still not logged in.

On inspecting I realise that I am facing CORS error:

However, I have added the links in my connected app:

Well sorry, I probably confused you for the other guy who lowkey went to like every post of mine and downvoted it (I could have said “water is blue” and they would have still downvoted it), my bad.

Still, what’s wrong with my simple comment to downvote it?
