We’ve seen your feedback and want to clear up some confusion around the recent change to Up Next, where watchlisted shows started appearing by default on our official mobile apps.
First, thank you to everyone who raised this! we understand how important Up Next is and how frustrating it felt when it suddenly worked differently.
What happened
- This was a side effect of an internal API upgrade we ran last week.
- It’s not a bug, but we also recognize it felt like one.
- This is not the “smarter Up Next” feature we’ve been working on but the change is foundational to that work.
- The side effect has now been fixed.
Where we stand
- Up Next is a core feature of Trakt and we’re actively working to make it better.
- Future changes will be rolled out progressively, not like this.
