Web app logging out weekly

Going back 2 months or so, the v3 web version of Trakt has been logging me out across all my open Trakt tabs in my computer browser 7 days after my last login, like clockwork. When this happens pages that require being logged in will redirect to the login page, and they don’t bring me back where I was after logging in (the original page is not available by going back in the browser - the login page seems to replace it there).

It’s surprising to me that I can’t stay logged in longer in web browsers. I used to stay logged in all the time before this started around 2 months back, and the phone app is fine. I was wondering if this is how it behaves now on web v3 for everybody or if something is amiss for me.

Additionally, the most recent time on logging in I was presented with a button asking me to authorize the app’s access to things like my email, even though the “app” was the Trakt website itself. It seemed surprising to have to authorize Trakt to access its own data from my account in itself. I’m not trying to connect to external apps or anything. I only use Trakt with its website and first party phone app.

try logging out and then logging in using https://trakt.tv/signin

OK, thanks, I’ve just tried that. It seems like the same login page I’ve used every week once my login expired, but I never explicitly signed out before in case that’s a necessary step for a fix. It’ll take another week to see if this helped.

i had that happening every few days when it made me use the email link to login. if the site is letting you use your password it should keep you logged in. if that’s still not happening, check your cookies/cache settings

I am using the email link to login. I had been using username and password originally but I don’t think that’s an option anymore at least for v3/non-MVP, only signing in with Apple/Google or via an email link, and I’m not connected with Apple/Google.
