You did an epic job directing 2024, now let’s check out all your stats in a brand new design! Also new this year is the dynamic social image, which gets automatically used when sharing your YIR link on your socials. Let us know what you think!
Wishing there was a way to hide things I re-rated this year (from highest rated lists), and haven’t wrapped my head around how this dynamic social image works, but aside from that it looks tops!
I don’t use it myself but are you able to share that image (eg accessed via https://widgets.trakt.tv/users/thoroughmas/yir.jpg?year=2024) to instagram stories? Or is it meant to be another format? Do you have an example of what another app does that you’re referring to?
Yeah just sharing that image, or a screenshot of the part of the year in review I want to share, works decently. I just think of how year in review on apps like PocketCasts has a one-click share button which sends a nicely laid out image straight to the social media app. I believe Spotify/YT Music do the same thing.
It sounds like you selected the 2020 template in the top left. Change that to auto and you’ll see each custom year in review design starting with 2020 and newer.
Great work, Justin and Trakt team! I would like to suggest that in the actors/actresses/directors/writers section there be an option to sort by episodes, instead of just by the number of series they appeared in, I think it makes more sense with the purpose of the site.
Found a bug with the most watched week, it seems that the text displayed is one week off from the actual correct week. The graph is displayed correctly and also clicking on the bar goes to the correct filter.
As mentioned previous year, I really like this VIP feature as I love some good stats. I do wish some more things could be added as the available stats are the same over the past few years. You could easily add a graph with average per week and how that evolved over time, or a chart with movie languages (vs the countries we have now). How does my behavior compares to previous year. Or some graphs that takes imdb or rotten tomatoes scoring into account (and even compare it to your own scores). You could also add a graph of the release-year of the movie and plot that to see my new vs classic watch behavior. Just some ideas
Would be nice if there was some good looking pictures to share on social media. I’m trying to find some good bits to screenshot but it’s all uninteresting stuff for social media like graphs and charts. I just need like 1 or 2 pictures that shows how much i watched and my most watched/rated movies and shows kinda like how spotify does it
