I would love to have an option to exclude specific genres from the calendar view. For example, I’m not interested in genres like reality, soap, or horror, and I don’t want to see shows from those categories appearing in my calendar.
Currently, the genre filter doesn’t fully address this need. If a show has multiple genres—for instance, a drama that is also labeled as a soap—it still appears even if I deselect “soap” in the filter. This makes the filter less effective because I end up constantly hiding shows manually instead of them being filtered out automatically.
It would be much more useful if the filter allowed users to exclude shows with certain genres altogether, even if they are also labeled with other genres. This way, the calendar could better reflect my preferences and help me discover new content that aligns with my interests—without being cluttered by shows I want to avoid.
Thanks for the suggestion. While I appreciate the thought I was hoping to find something more permanent, that doesn’t require me so save the end of the URL slug and copy it past it into the URL whenever I want to see the calendar for a specific date (since the date changes).
I played around a bit more, and I can get the “-” in front the genres by setting the filter category to display “none” instead of “any”. However, still not what I’m ultimately looking for.
What I really want though is an “only”. i.e. I only want to see shows that are dramas on Disney+ minus soaps for example. I guess that would have to be an additional layer and not just a third option.
I have to agree with the OP on this one. I asked a while back and didn’t get any official reply so I kinda just left it alone.
I’m one of those that don’t like Anime and have longed to have the option to filter out that genre from anywhere that is possible. I like the “exclude” filter. I’d really like to have it available on my “Recommended” section(s) - specifically on the dashboard.
I was fooling around with this after I had replied. I still think a separate “exclude” option to filter would be great. Because like @Ohifriend mentioned you can change it from “all” to “none”, but then you lose the ability to filter for other things. As it says, it’s either “ALL” or “NONE” (does that make sense?).
