When searching for movies/shows regarding sports (like the last dance: The Last Dance - Trakt, the Alpinist The Alpinist (2021) - Trakt or Giannis: Giannis: The Marvelous Journey (2024) - Trakt), people have to dig through other sections. If there coulde be a genre “sports” added, searching for such movies/shows would be much easier.
Any possibillity to add this?
The genres come from TMDB, so I suppose it’s better to post the question there

Sports is not a genre on TMDB, see also this discussion:
Any movies with Sport added as a genre on Trakt, are added if they have the keyword sports on TMDb I think.
Just like Anime is added if Genre = Animation & Country = Japan.
