This has been asked before and I can’t believe it still hasn’t been implemented. Please let us follow actors/directors and it would be great if you could get a notification for their new projects/add them to watch list. Thanks!
It is on the roadmap: https://roadmap.trakt.tv/c/20-get-notified-when-your-favorite-people-drop-something-new
Hopefully more people start looking there and vote there too.
Thank you!! I didn’t see that. I’m so glad they are aware. I’ve added my feedback in support!
+1 for this feature! It would be amazing to follow our favorite actors & actresses and get notified whenever they’re attached to a new project and when a movie or TV show they’re in gets released.
This would save me so much time googling the web, plus it’ll keep people engaged in the website more, it’s a win, win for Users and Trakt.![]()
FWIW it is fairly simple to create a dynamic list for this currently.
MDBlist which you can log into with your Trakt login allows you to create lists for production company, director, cast, etc. and then specify as Additional Filters “planned, rumored, in production, post production”. And then you can have that list appear here in Trakt if you so desire.
Count me in. If this isn’t asking for the moon.. would love to follow production houses or perhaps the writer too. Basically anyone credited on the page haha
Dynamic lists would probably be my favourite solution for this
What do you mean by this? Have a dynamic list that would populate with movies and/or shows with your favorite actors/directors with watched/unwatched filters?
You’d still need to select your favorites, right?
Ooh I like this idea, I watch a lot of low budget movies and it can be hard to follow their new work. A dynamic list of movies/shows of your favourited actors and directors would be great
basically bringing the mdblist functionality in house it seems like. which i agree would be cool
They removed it from the roadmap completely even though it had more upvotes than most of the other features they put into production. Unfortunate.
Exactly this
Well… someone
might have used that + button to suggest it again as a new idea. I’d suggest more do the same.
