Cant mark as watched shows with a (wrong) future release Date in V3

Short description of the issue

  • in V3, i can no longer mark an episode as watched if the Release Date is in the future (which some times happens when the release date is wrong)

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • There are certain shows/episodes with the wrong release Date, for example, an anime that releases new episodes on Wednesdays, in Trakt it shows with Release date on Saturdays. I know this info is being pulled from somewhere else so thats not necessarily a problem to me.
However in v2 i could mark a new episode as Watched, even if the episode had a future release Date, in V3 this is no longer Possible.

Example, Today March 18th, i watched the new episode (S1 E12) of an Anime ( * jack-of-all-trades-party-of-none ) that releases on Wednesdays, on Trakt it shows that it releases in 4 Days.

  • This causes some issues, for example it doesn’t show in “Continue watching” which is annoying but not the end of the world.

  • But the real issue is that now i cant Mark it as Watched because the button is now Disabled in V3, in V2 you could mark it as watched even if the Release date was in the future.

  • Am i supposed to wait 4 days so it “releases” and then mark it as watched? will it then even allow me to properly select that i actually watched it on Wednesday?

  • Please let me Add episodes to my Library / Mark as watched, even if the Release date is in the future

Its probably an anime that releases on streaming before airing on tv.

But yes i agree. Here on dutch television im even seeing a flemish telenovela before it airs in belgium and with v3 being forced upon is i can no longer log it in the website.

Utter disgrace and total madness.

To mark something as viewed that has not been broadcast, you need to right-click on the button and select ‘Inspect’. The line shown in blue in the image will be highlighted. Double-click on ‘disabled=‘’’ to edit it, delete ‘disabled=‘’’, then press Enter. This will allow you to interact with it and mark it as viewed.
