Hey,

I always create a list like upcoming movies and then sort at release date

When I go to a movie for example: Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, it says it has a premier release on 14th of march 2022 but the threatical release is on 12 of august 2022.

When I sort my upcoming movies list I would love to see the release date of the movie at theatrical release, because it isn’t out here yet, just only for some limited time on march.

My requests would be:

  • Sort a list for example at theatrical release date
  • Have a setting to choose which countries release date you want to see. So for example when I go to the bodies bodies bodies movie Trakt page that I see the Dutch release date

The premiere date and release date are different. A lot of movies are premiering at TIFF right now that won’t be released until 2023.

i’m adjusting movie release dates to do this order of preference:

  • earliest theatrical or digital release date in the original country
  • earliest release date in the original country
  • earliest release date

We can’t support custom release dates right now since the list page is heavily cached and uses the main release date only. It’s something I’ve thought about too, but it’s a large undertaking.
