I have a superb suggestion, namely, Custom Calendars, but better.
I thought those calendars were what I was looking for, but I wasn’t.
Like I’m a Dutchie, and there’s a French show that’s airing it’s second season right now, and an American new show that’s airing currently. And I would like to add those series, but with different custom dates.
I don’t know if it would be possible, or how, but it would be totally cool!!
Hope you can somehow make it work
(I love it more than haters hate the purple, and that’s a lot! )
I imagine it being like, you add a season to a custom calendar list thingy, and it asks (in pretty English, not my Dunglish )
“how often does this air?” [daily, weekly, custom specify e.g. monday-thursday or monday, thursday-saturday]
“how many episodes air each time” [default: 1, for example is there’s two episodes back to back weekly]
and then when you generate the calendar, it’ll add the episodes based on how you answered the questions, and you can still edit a single episode and subsequent if an airing gets changed because of reasons (sports, or politics or whatever). That’d be like adding a recurring meeting in Outlook!
So hey, no need to be rude. You didn’t need to comment anything on this thread either, but here we are.
Some people enjoy consuming their content on actual linear TV, and we’re not all living in America where a gazillion of the content is produced and thus you can use the calendar for those shows (and only those).
I don’t care at all that right how or when the show aired in its original country, I would love to create a custom calendar so I can see when I need to turn on my TV to watch the next episode of a series that’s not Dutch.
And it needs to ask those questions, because airing in other countries might be different from the original release in the origin country. For example The Way Home aired weekly in US, but here in NL they aired two episodes each monday evening back to back. And Season 2 aired right after Season 1.
But maybe this idea is not for you, or anyone who uses media centers and Kodi and whatever
so you want calendars for a show that is region specific.
would it not make more sense to add “aired in country” section then users can create their own mapping, then the data would benefit the whole community.
though not to be disrespectful but I don’t see many dutch people paying $60/year to get trakt so they can use this feature. A million other features that is planned and affect the whole userbase and not like 2%
It’s about being able to use the calendar future at all. If you can’t watch shows as they air because you don’t live in the country they originally air in.
I was just giving an example of being Dutch and watching shows from other countries.
And it specifically should not be community data. We have enough crap in lists as it is lmao.
The question is where do you get the data from? Trakt would need to use an API from someone. But who has that info? There’s already a JustWatch link on movies and shows here on Trakt where you can check if you can watch the content in another country and on which services.
No I mean you give the info yourself! Like instead of putting episodes/seasons to a list. You put them in a calendar. And hopefully some logic that you can add a season at once with those example questions. Instead of putting in the episodes manually.
It’s probably super hard to code or something but it would make the calendar actually useful!
